[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

Thanks for both the links! Lol I'll probably install the GB leak tonight then... After I have it installed can I just update like nightlies, or will I have to wipe and re flash every time?

You have just been post pwned

Once you are on the GB kernel, when an update is released you can update like the nightlies. No need to wipe every time. I would still recommend a full wipe every few updates, but idk how often it will be updated after now, since most of the bugs are fixed. I'm hoping we start getting GB kernel nightlies soon :)

Also, from the looks of the changelog on the CM site, the FC for the email issue may be fixed with tonight's nightly. Not 100% sure though.

So I've been using CM7 for the last few days. Awesome ROM. It's just a bummer that the battery life is terrible. I used to be able to get almost a full two days worth (if I paid attention to disabling background data when I knew I wasn't going to be using it) out of each charge on Liberty. Now I come to this, love the speed and customization, but I can't even get through one full day with background data off for most of it.

I know there are unofficial versions that have a battery fix. But when I used one of those, it completely killed my phone's ability to use any data connection. No 3G, no 1X, nothing. Even with flashing to other ROMS, wiping everything, nothing would solve it except a SBF.

Yes the battery Isn't the best, but to me it's worth it for the speed and customization I get. No contest. Plus I have hopes that cm7 based off the gb kernel will help with battery life. Fingers crossed

If you are looking for better battery life, try out the new version with the GB Kernel. As of today, most of the bugs seem to be worked out, so you shouldn't have too many issues. You'll need to flash the GB leak first, then go to this ROM.

Blah, yeah, it's a shame to have such a great ROM have a deal breaker like that for me (battery life). If I do absolutely nothing with my phone and leave background data off, I might be able to get 16 hours out of a charge. Add in the normal use, I might get 10 to 12 hours. I'll check out some of the GB based ROMs. I'll wait on the CMGB, though. Maybe give Apex a shot.

I dl the lowest one down with the mapping fix.

Crap..lol don't know which one then..I have the original from my first jump, and now this one with the camera/camcorder/netflix etc. Fix, now I guess I need the mapping? I thought it was all integrated in one..maybe ill just flash the one I have, if keyboard acts up, flash the one you have...lol anyway, I'm dling the one you have while I'm waiting...lol cool to see your jumping Idopa! Its gonna rock with the fixes!:-)
