[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

the new nightly has a problem with the 1 percent battery increments. It's not the other changes you applied. The the next nightly later tonight /early tomorrow morning will have 1 percent increments fixed.

Oh. Well that makes sense. 8)

Can anyone tell me what bugs are still popping up with this? Also, I am currently running a rooted FROYO with no ROM. Will all I need to do is do a wipe and install this. Thanks for the help. dancedroid

Bugs:

USB must be plugged/unplugged/plugged to work
alt-lock button doesn't work, but hitting alt twice works as alt-lock
built-in live wallpapers don't work, but market live wallpapers do

as far as I know, that about covers it.

For installing - since you are on Froyo, all you need to do is be rooted, install clockworkMod recovery via Droid 2 bootstrap, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache (also format system and wipe Dalvik cache are recommended, but not 100% required,) then flash the ROM.

Once you are on CM7, don't use Droid 2 Bootstrap anymore. To get to recovery press and hold power button, select reboot, then select reboot recovery.

I think I've covered just about everything :D

USB has been working perfectly fine for me.

Ok here's a weird one. My app drawer is gone. I'm on LauncherPro. When I open it it's just black with the home icon. Anyone else?

Edit: I cleared LauncherPro data and it fixed it.

Does anyone have a very rough estimate for when it'll go from a nightly to an offical ROM? weeks, months, etc?

Do they release a changelog for the nightlies? Id like to know what's different from build to build.

Edit: nevermind, read back a few post and found a link for nightlie's changelog. Thanks for posting.

That's up to the CM gods...there is a process that includes requirements that the devs are working on as I understand it. But really, we have a very stable ROM at this point, and nightly builds for updates, so getting an official stable ROM release won't change things very much for us.

I am running nightly 3 and it has been running great. Only problems have been alt lock of course and my auto backlight seems slugglish. Sometimes I have to turn the screen off and on to recognize a new lighting condition. Anyone experience this?

Bluetooth

has anyone noticed when using a bluetooth ear piece that you only get a second to "say a command" before it cuts off? I have installed all of the nightlies and noticed this issue with them all on my unit. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Known issue, evidently...from RevNumbers, one of our much appreciated devs:

"I used voice commands over bluetooth all the bloody time until switching to CM7... so it kind of bugs the hell outta me that i can't use them anymore, i've tried just about everything i can think of to make them work, and it looks like it may not be possible while using the libaudio that we are (which we kind of have to, lol)"

So short of some additional devs getting involved and discovering a currently unknown work-around, it sounds like BT voice commands may be a persistent issue on CM4D2...

Man that sucks! such a great rom and can't believe it has such a goofy issue!

Well, getting CM running on the D2 at all is a pretty amazing feat, so it's not too surprising that there may be a few issues that may be very difficult/impossible to resolve. Luckily I almost never use BT/BT commands, so I'm no affected, but I know how it feels when a feature you rely on isn't working...
