[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

In case anyone is wondering, the imoseyon tweak is working well. I wasn't sure if these tweaks came pre installed so I've been flashing it on each nightly with no adverse effects

I just switched from LGB 0.9 to CM& using the all-in-one zip method. It worked but now I am having all sorts of issues. I keep getting a android.process.media error-force close, the text messaging app is goofy, cant see message while I'm typing, message disappears after sending, my mixzing music app won't work, when I long press icons in the app drawer there is no way to move them up to a home screen...

What went wrong and how might I go about fixing my issues?

I take it you followed the directions exactly from our pm's (formatted, mounted). Have you dl and flashed the latest nightly yet?

That happened to my brother the other day. Keep trying. You'll get it. I'm hoping the update will take care of your issues.
I take it you got the radio error? You can reflash the file again (mount system, install, gapps)

Yes, got the radio error. I got the last time I went to CM7 a couple weeks ago too. Does everybody get that same error?

Should I re-flash the whole works or try to flash nightly 19 first?

I never reflashed after the radio error. I rebooted, dl the latest nightly and just installed it. So dl the nightly, boot into recovery (don't use bootstrap of course), wipe cache and dalvik cache. Mount system and install. Reboot. I hope this takes care of your issues

Yes, that is what I meant. I got that radio error both times that I have flashed that SBF. I have CM7 running from the all in one download link/process but I have encountered a bunch of bugs.

I just went ahead and flashed Nightly#19 and re-flashed google apps, hopefully this will clear up some of my issues*fingers crossed*

So I am on nightly#19 now, right off I notice a couple of things and it may well be operator error on my part.

First, when I long press an icon in the app drawer it doesn't pop up into the home screen, just gets some sort of little task bar above it.

Second, when in landscape position and typing a text message what I am typing doesn't appear in the little window like it does in normal, upright position.

Yeah...in my experience you don't actually need to mount system every time you flash a nightly...I've never mounted system before a CM7 nightly flash and haven't had any issues.

I just did this but did not toggle the mount/unmount system? I didn't see mention of that in the instructions I was following (page 64 of this thread)

I'm up and running but experiencing the same issues.

Mounting is just a habit i've gotten into. Most people don't do it, but it gives me that extra bit of safety. It won't hurt. It's just the way I was taught.
Sorry to hear your issues are still there. The all in one installer is in an update.zip format. Swagger explained to me to dl the all in one, rename it to update.zip and install it that way rather than using the install zip from sd. My install was really clean. Not one issue as of yet.

Some people are getting confused about mounting the system. Some are getting confused about radio error.

Mount your system before doing anything. Whether tghatg would be following my instructions to flash CM7 off another ROM, or flashing nightly. Its due to the Dalvik cache needing to be wiped thoroughly. And also when flashing to CM7 from another ROM, GB leak, or whatever, I would strongly recommend you mount your system first.

If you get a radio error, like ldopa showed, reboot AFTER your phone has settled down at the home screen. If it persiste, follow this method...

- have latest nightly and put on root of sd card
- have gapps and put it on root of sd card
- boot into Recovery via Power Button method
- mount system
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- flash latest build
- flash gapps
- reboot

You should NOT get a radio error after that anymore.

Lastly, not to forget to mention, as ldopa said it right... it doesn't hurt to mount system. The files will be respectively installed in their correct folders and parent folders. Even if there isn't any system files (/system/...) from the zip you're flashing, it isn't going to mess anything up.

One more thing, make sure you do not have an existing update.zip on the root of your sd card before you put the new update.zip on there.

I did rename it to update.zip but then installed it using install zip from sd. That part of the direction was a bit confusing to me because the terminology in the directions didn't exactly match what I was seeing on my phone. Should I re-do the whole works and install using the other method?

Error Message;
"the process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" message is preventing me from doing pretty much anything and I don't know what it means?
