[ROM] [ROM] Droid Concepts Froyo Releases [BETA versions]

Its really not a big deal as i will use them for my themes anyway ive come across several in the forums that dont work with froyo and wound up downloading the updates from the market and inverting them myself but its your call

I saw thebowers' post on how to invert the market so I may take this as an opportunity to learn how. I've been itching to learn to theme and figure if I learn now, I can start working on something of my own before we upgrade our phones.

I know there's a lot of great themers out there but I like stuff that looks like a stock interface, just darker.

My battery life today kicked some serious arse!!!! Not sure if something with this build is different or I just wasn't paying attention before ... either way, good stuff!

Apologies if it's staring me in the face but I was looking to determine whether this was built off of OTA FRG83G with the MMS fix or something else. Finally gave up (for now) on a Gingerbread ROM and was looking for something solid that worked off of the latest Droid OTA release.

Thanks in advance.

This is ROM is Android 2.2.2, which includes the SMS Fix. I know that in the About Phone section, it shows FRG83G, but that can be changed to anything and everything very easily. I am not sure if it is built from the official Motorola/Verizon build, but it is Android 2.2.2.

So, don't worry about the SMS bug as it is not present in this ROM.

wifi to 3g switching

Something that occurred this morning. When I left home, the switch from wifi to 3g did not happen. Had to toggle plane to get 3g working. Thinking it's my kernel, Chevy mv 1.0. Would that be the problem does anyone think?> Can't check until tonight when I go home. Maybe go back to an older chevy kernel and see if that works later.

Just installed Build 7, first impressions of the ROM are very good. I am very pleased to see the effort that you put into theming just about every aspect of the UI.

I'm coming over from davros' GimpSource 3.1. I wanted to check out DC to see what your ideas of a ROM should be. God knows there are enough people out there who just change around some CM code and call it their own, but it appears that you have really dug deep into this to make it your own.

Very impressed so far, I'm looking forward to playing around with this ROM and the future releases.

I am using Chevy's lv 1.0 from the link in the OP without any issues ... but I really don't know if kernel has anything to do with 3G or not.

This ROM is source built, and it uses the newest OTA FRG83G proprietary files. There are no MMS/SMS problems and even some enhancements that I added in to the stock MMS/SMS app.

From all the feedback there are only minor set backs but most involve either flashing apps or kernels, there is nothing wrong stability wise with the stock apps or kernels that come with it. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask away man.. :)

It is possible that it is the kernel, but it could be the ROM too. Like you said check out another kernel and see if you continue to get the problem and if you do then I would say switch to a P3 Droid kernel, it's what I'm using and I havn't had any trouble with Wi-Fi or 3G at all.

Anyone having any Wi-Fi/3G problems on stock or any kernels?

Yes a lot of time and effort go into this man, so glad you like it. My idea's and Davros' ideas are about the same, which is why we both decided to come together and work on a ROM, I think its going to produce some great things. Like he mentioned, he does't have to focus on dong everything for the ROM now, and neither do I, which leaves more time to work on adding and improving rather than just fixing issues, and themes, and slowly adding features. So thanks for coming to check it out. We have some great plans.

Also like you said our belief is not to just take CM code and call it ours. We are doing everything built on the Android AOSP code, meaning stock. Our settings app is not just a renamed/packaged CMParts like most ROMs put out. It is a brand new app built from the ground up. We will be adding some of the features CM has introduced but we do not plan to just copy the CMParts App or the CM ROM for that matter.

So take a seat and enjoy the ride man, I think you'll be pleased with everything we do.. :)
