[ROM] [ROM][DROID2] ApeX 2.0.0 Release Candidate (RC3) (8/27/2011)

damn i really loved the last build of Apex based on the GB leak. CM7's battery life so far has made me miserable. Though I really do love that pulldown powerstrip. makes gps and other tedious tasks instantaneous

My battery is just as good as apex on cm7 ota kernel ging...

You Juss Been TAPPED! by the drummer...
Another day, yet another flash.....:-)

I envy you drummer. Though there have been numerous posts about CM7's battery performance and I see very little consistency in mine. Jakebits, undervolting, v6. Pooped out 6 ways from sunday

Not to be pushy or sound rude (@fabulous *high five on the awesomeness*) but when should we be graced with a non-rc release? I'm chomping at the bit!

I want to try this out. I'm coming from CM7. I can just boot into recovery and wipe and flash right?

The thing I really need to know is what if I want to go back? Can I boot into recovery, even though ill be using bootstrap, and wipe and flash a backup? Or will I have to SBF again?

If you are on the GB ota then you just boot to recovery wipe, mount system and data and flash to your hearts content. If you are not on the ota then sbf back to froyo take the ota use the Droid 3 root exploit, bootstrap it and you know the routine ;-)

OK because I thought I read something that because CM7 is 2nd init and ROMs like Apex and Liberty aren't you couldnt just flash back and forth. Maybe I was misunderstanding . It had something to do with CWM

Yeah there is a diff between cw recoveries, as a safe bet just use the one that comes with bootstrap.

Ok I flashed, definitely not nearly as customizable as CM7 unless Im missing a menu somewhere. There really is no way to change things like the lock screen or the app drawer? Don't know about battery yet. The question I do have is when I long press power there is no reboot option, only turn off. Theres no way to just reboot?

Its not very customizable and there is no pull down power strip or a reboot menu. The purpose of this ROM is stability, battery life, speed and a stock aosp GB experience. Simple, to the point and stable. Love it or leave it, its a great ROM but if you want to customize then look at liberty 3...I generally jump back and forth, but apex is the most stable in my opinion.

I was curious mostly. I mean to reboot I just shut it down and turn it back on. Seems pretty stable so far aside for tethering not working. Well see about battery life. That's the real reason Im trying it. I get about the same battery life, read terrible, on any of the 2nd init ROMs so Im trying this to see if its any better. Maybe Ill take a look at Liberty 3 at some point but from what Ive seen this is supposed to have the best battery life.
