the 'clear/wipe' reinstall worked perfectly.. and corrected BOTH my problem with Maps and the problem with Nav. :)

That's great news.

Just out of curiosity, could you outline for us the complete steps you went through when flashing this ROM (what ROM you were coming from, what process you used to flash this one that caused the problems, etc.)

I'm simply curious since a complete wipe is generally not required. I'm not having any problems, but your experience and solution might help somebody else who is.

Anyone know if Superuser 2.3 eliminates the SetCPU permissions issue? Can't flash it until I get home and wondering if I should even bother...

What permissions issue are you asking about? The one where every time you open the app it says it has been provided SU permissions? If that's what you're asking about then it doesn't fix it.

I think I may have gone back to v.2.1 before having installed SetCPU, but as far as v2.3 is concerned it works fine. I don't think I tried it with v2.2.

open up superuser>preferences>notifications> IF it is set on Toast change it to None

You will no longer get that notification each time you open an application that needs permission.

Well, i'm a bit of a noob.. SO i may use improper terminology.... BUT this is what i did...

I've been toying with different roms flashing a few diff versions went from kangerade v.1 to the 5.09.. then saw the lithium mod a couple days after it was posted.. grabbed those placed them on the sd and used clockwork to install zip(tried a couple different themes/ blueberr/alt darkness/watermarkd).. everything went smoothly.. BUT i hadn't tried maps or navigation until this past friday. I think in the original steps for installation posted by jrummy it does say wipe/clear may or may not be needed.. so i didnt fool with it until i noticed some problems.. so yesterday i did a back up, then backed up my apps using absolute system.. booted into recovery did the wipe/clear once it was finished i reflashed with watermark'd restored apps with absolute system and everything worked fine.

i don't think i did anything wrong previously, but i am new to all of this... so it def could have been user error..
I'm just stoked at how easy it was to backup/restore everything with absolute system.. as some of the other app back ups i've looked at were more confusing.

just checked it out on JRum's twitter - NIIIIIICE!! load that beyatch up!!

The BA is done/complete.
Simple yet catchy, IMO.
Waiting on jrummy16's final approval.
He has the files/links to post and/or update the ROM thread if all is good.
The preview will be available once he gives the 'go-ahead'.
Careful navigation from the preview link will yield you the file. ;)

is that zip a real zip that should be extracted, or is that installed in recovery?

I'm wondering since JRummy re-ported the EVO theme if I should flash back to his and then back again to V2 since that's what I'm running right now? Think I should be able to pull it off without Wiping?

For those who were having issues with Superuser 2.2 that comes with this ROM there is a v2.3 available today on xda. I just flashed it. It got some nice changes.

[APP] Superuser 2.3 - What's it been doing? [2010-08-10] - Page 23 - xda-developers

Tried flashing using SPRecovery and it failed. Anybody else tried it yet? Don't have time right now to try to mess with it to get it to work with SPRecovery or i would

Flashed via ClockWork and it went without a hitch. Used to be a hardcore SPRecovery guy but switched to Clock and although it's usually seemless, I'm thinking about going back to SP because there are times when my phone won't boot into recovery....
