np, I do miss the Visual Voicemail I had on my G1 when I was with T-Mobile, but like hell do I think it's worth paying extra for with VZW hehe

To everyone using (or trying to use) visual voice mail... I use google voice for my voicemail and I think it's 100x better than Visual voice mail was... might want to give it a shot. Just my $.02

I am starting to get frusterated trying all of this. I feel like a LOOSER being that I keep watching others get this done and I can't even figure out step one. :(

I am trying to get my phone ready to flash the new liberty ROM but I am having issues. I downloaded the Droid 2 Bootstrap app by Clockworkmod but everytime I click on Reboot Recovery or Bootstrap Recovery it just reboots. It doesn't go into recovery. How do I backup my current ROM with this?

I know this is a rediculous request but can someone post or pm me a step by step from just after rooting to completion of flashing Liberty 1.5. I need to know how to back up my current ROM...verify it is successful, back up all my apps and such (I have titanium backup) and then install the new rom.

Are you sure you're rooted? How are you sure?

i have run Root Checker and it says I am successfully rooted. Superuser is on here as well as Droid 2 Overclock and Setcpu. Drocap2 as well. All these require root right?

I think I figured out why I can't boot into the recovery thing. I am going to try something. I did select to run a different script to boot faster in Droid 2 Overclock. Would this prevent me from getting to the recovery thing?

It gave me 2 options....Root script or Android script. Android is the default but Root says it provides faster boots.

I can't cuss on here but wow am I steaming. My coworker just trying to help me backup my ROM to install this and he too is stuck I am thinking we are missing something here. I go into Droid 2 Bootstrap and click on Bootstrap Recovery....phone reboots....when we didn't get into the recovery I pulled the battery, put it back in and started phone....still no go.

I am getting so frusterated I am starting to give my coworker a hard time telling him I am just going to unroot my phone and say %$%$ it.

ok. I owe some apologies here. I figured out what I was doing wrong. Like a dbag I didn't follow all the steps. Now I am really scared to do this. But anyway I didn't click on the Bootstrap recovery first before clicking on the Reboot Recovery.

so....I finally have a back up of my stock ROM. How do I verify that it isn't corrupt before I move on to wiping and flashing?

ok....got back up done. DL'd RSDlite 4.9, as well as the 4.8 drivers from Motorolla.....now I don't know what to do. I am going to search back in the threads to see if there are steps to install this. Feel free to post up what I should be doing next.

Why are you trying to SBF your phone? This your very first rom? Give me a sec man, let me find you a guide... because, haha~ you don't need to use rsdlite until you break your phone or need to return it to a factory out-of-the-box state. But listen, not following every step to the letter when you mess with these phones is a surefire way to mess something up. One sec.

Listen, that whole thread has tips on what to do. There's also others floating around on how to rom. Using RSDlite and learning it is important because when your phone bricks one day, you'll be able to recover it using that. Most guides want you to learn it first because, well, it's important. But it's not an actual step in the actual rooting, romming of the device.
