[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

I was cruising along with these instructions until I did a data restore with Titanium backup. That seemed to mess up quite a bit. I received a notice that I had new voice mail. I checked the voice mail and there was none. Then the phone app force closed on me and everything was pretty much messed up.

I did a restore to where I was this morning before I started to play with this method of fixing everything. I think the restored data screwed everything up.

Should I try again??

Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

Sorry to be so hard on you today Marty ;)

Not at all. I think I will wait for version 3 but it is relatively painless to try that other method again, too.

Actually I think I misunderstood. I thought you were asking should you restore data from Titanium Backup again. As far as trying to install the ROM again - by all means! Just try to have your apps restored in SS 4.8 before you install Miui ROM.

Thanks, yes you are right.

I don't think I was clear enough on what I was to restore. I did get the apps installed with SS4.8. I was trying to load the data again not the apps. That was what caused all the trouble.

I'm going to watch some hockey this PM. I will see how much energy I have for a reinstall when I get home.

For the record I use MyBackupPro for data backups (bookmarks, SMS & MMS, user dictionary, etc) and it's the bomb. Never had any issues. 30 day free trial in market.

has anyone got the MIUI back up to work. I got it to work the first time I installed it but after all these updates it keeps FCing on me

I just installed v2 and didn't know v3 was coming out. Great, now i have to flash again. Good thing I have time.

Our Key Cards for every dorm room on campus has to be turned in for another room key. Reason? The cards manufacture date expired, rendering them useless. So I've been out of my room since noon.

I'm crossing my fingers that we will be able to flash v3 over v2 so I don't have to re-alphabetize all my icons on my home screen (for the THIRD time)

:icon_evil:I'm rearranging mine now, does that mean I might have to do it again, is it even worth rearranging now?

well if MIUI back up works maybe it saves the desktop configuration like launcher pro

Already tested that - it doesn't, just backs up your apps + app data
