I think I already know the answer to this but what da heck. I love this ROM and have been using it since day one. Only have two issues. One is I often have lag in redrawing the home screen but I can live with that. The other is what this post was actually about. (so why didn't you just say so?)

Is there any way to get direct dial on the home screens. I miss having this in that I often called work or home directly without having to go into contacts.

Yes, long press home screen to go into edit mode. Hit menu button, Tap Add, tap shortcuts. There should be direct dial/message options.

I flashed the phone fix. It did take and changed the settings which I didnt mind. The only thing I didnt like was that it brought back the stock in call screen.

****... I was just about to flash the Phone fix zip myself but that's enough to keep me from doing so since I want to stay as stock Miui as I can for now.

Hopefully this will all be addressed in V 3.

guess it needs more testing,i did not test calls in and out before posting the screen shots

At least with the settings change I could shut off vibrate when call made or answered. That has always driven me nuts. lol

Really love the miui in call interface though so I guess Im gonna have to deal with that for a bit longer

Already tested that - it doesn't, just backs up your apps + app data

the muiu backup fcs on me,am i the only one with this issue

same here. It worked the first time i installed this rom. not anymore after all these updates.

I just make a backup with clockwork.

Home screen draw delays

Anyone else having random issues with long home screen redraws. It seems to happen most often when I go back to the home screen from either browsing the web or checking email. It takes a good 5 to 10 seconds to redraw. I installed over UD8 no clearing of data or cache. Then I put on the miui skin.

Okay folks. I just confirmed that the market issue not showing the Verizon Wireless tab is most likely due to the fact that this is a GSM rom and we are all on CDMA. The next step for us is to figure out where the phone is doing this. My best guess is that it's in the framework. Anyone feel like looking around for it??

I'm not having that issue. It may seem counter-intuitive, but with this ROM performance seems to be negatively affected when using SetCPU. Also the consensus has been that installing over SS 4.8 provides the best results. No telling if not doing this may be contributing to any issues you are having but just throwing that out there.
