What version of the MIUI rom are you running and which BB vending apk did you use?

I have V2 and i pushed BB 0.3 because everything from that version works. BB 4 doesnt even work and I didnt try BB5 i just needed skype and the zip was lying around.

Anyone else having random issues with long home screen redraws. It seems to happen most often when I go back to the home screen from either browsing the web or checking email. It takes a good 5 to 10 seconds to redraw. I installed over UD8 no clearing of data or cache. Then I put on the miui skin.

I'm not having that issue. It may seem counter-intuitive, but with this ROM performance seems to be negatively affected when using SetCPU. Also the consensus has been that installing over SS 4.8 provides the best results. No telling if not doing this may be contributing to any issues you are having but just throwing that out there.

Have you tried runing your phone all day without setcpu. is there a difference in performance and battery life

I haven't had SetCPU installed at all since I installed this ROM. I was using BB V0.5 before I came over to Miui and since Pete said you didn't need it with his new ROM I wasn't using it.

I decided to test how this ROM did without it, and it's done so well I haven't installed it. I am getting stellar performance AND battery life. For the first two days on this ROM I had the CPU icon on the notification bar menu unlit, so I was even underclocked, and performance was still amazing. And to boot, the back of my phone has remained cold to the touch ever since I installed this ROM.

It's just a hunch but I think this ROM has a built-in way of handling CPU clocking on its own. The people using SetCPU are the ones seeming to be having problems with performance, so that's why I'm postulating that SetCPU might even be detrimental to performance.

EDIT: I am using Chevy's newest ULV 1.2 GHz kernel.

I just removed SetCpu and rebooted my phon. It seems to be running better but I have still had a few long home screen redraws. It seems to happen right after I back out of a larger or more memory intensive app. Now with that said I know almost zip about the Android OS so I am probably speaking out my butt. Hopefully taking off setcpu will fix the issue.

I might as well be speaking out of my butt when I say you don't need SetCPU, I can only attest to my own personal experience with the ROM. Like I said, it's only a hunch of mine that SetCPU can negatively affect your performance, since I haven't even used it with this ROM!

There are lots of factors that could affect this such as which widgets you are using, how many widgets you're using, or how many home screens you are using.

I think I just found a "Major" issue..at least for me its "major"... camera feature doesn/t perform correctly. The Flash is intermittent, click on the back key sometimes gets you nowhere as well as selecting the picture you take once it gets moved over to the right side of camera app..Zen or Bg, can you check this out for me please. I use my camera a lot due to my Son and that may be my downfall to this ABSOLUTELY TREMENDOUS ROM...

Glad it works for you but Am a..ed out..I also think I found something else as well. When you try to manually lock the phone by pressing the power on/off button, it turns the screen off but Does not lock phone. I think it only locks phone when light turns off by itself..Actually I just let it turn off by itself and phone didn't lock. I don't know if it has to do with me changing the BG pic of the lock screen:icon_eek:
