[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

Go to the rom file and open it with 7zip as an archive. Navigate to /system/app/whatever.apk and move that file to your desktop. Then either place that in the update.zip of this rom or place in another update.zip file under /system/app using the same method as before.

You can also use adb put if you are asking how to get the .apk out of the rom. I am not even going to go there.

I tried your advice but No improvement. It seems like something in this rom is stopping the camera app from working normally. When you take a pic then try to view it from the little small window, you cannot. Then when the back button is pressed, nothing happens. Home button is the only way to get out the app..:icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek:

Its ok. You win some, you lose some.Guess Zen is just not for me..Camera is an Extremely important feature for me and my son..We take pics all the time and send them to family and friends..Back to SS4.8 I go..Thanks to all For all of your efforts

Ok so here is what I get. If I take one picture and try and view it in the gallery it wont do anything, just keeps me on the camera screen. However, if I then take another picture and hit the preview pic it takes me to the gallery and both the first and second pic is there. I can then delete or do what I want with it and then hit the back arrow and it returns me to the camera. Weird.

I have the same issue. If I try on a fresh flash of MIUI it works fine, but at some point it starts glitching. I thought I narrowed it down to another camera app causing the glitch but it looks like I was wrong.

Am sort of glad that am not the only poor sapp experiencing this..As long as the experts attempted to fix, that's all I can ask for..Its too bad for such an exceptional rom to be brought to a halt w/this camera issue.Thanks again all

Yeah, I mean the only thing I could recommend at this point is starting over from scratch and seeing if you still have the issue. But then if you still did, you would have wasted your time. Other people have reported a similar issue so it's not just you, but I can attest that this is not a problem for everyone as I could not replicate your issue.

Maybe when V3 comes out the issue will be gone... maybe not.

Compared to my knowledge/skill level of rom tweaking, you're closer to an expert then I ever will be..You get my drift

any reason as to why my phone info says im running cm6, i came from ss4.8

Because the orignal rom was 'copy and pasted' over the top of CM6. Which, BTW is the same as 'porting'. This is the same as they did way back with the nexus 2.1 roms, take the elements wanted to get to work on the Droid 1, and put those .apk into a working droid 1 rom.

Which brings me back to the question I asked ~ 40 pages back. Has anyone thoght of doing that with this, i.e. 'port' it over SS4.8?

dont know whether it has been mentioned yet but I just found out that the lock screen only works in portrait mode. If your phone is off/locked if you slide out the keyboard the phone comes on and goes right to the home screen, no screen lock what so ever. Maybe this is because the ROM was made for a non slider phone.

If this has already been reported I apologize. Havent seen it yet.

Yeah, that was reported. I kinda like it, it's a way to get out of the lock screen without swiping. If you have a security lock enabled it will still work.

Hey Caesar, I was thinking about the redraw issue some people (including you) are having this morning and I was wondering if my redraws might be minimal because I use the app AutoKiller. I do get redraws after long browser sessions but the last only for about 3 seconds max, very minimal.

I wanted to make that recommendation. It's free in the market and not a Taskiller but a native memory management tweaker. I use the "optimum" preset and it seems to help reduce lag issues substantially.

This will drastically reduce redraws.
