[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

<snip>It would be easy to add the local.prop to the AllInOneFixes file as well.

Yep, but a quick q, would you then have to edit the updater-script file as well?

Also, forgive me if I missed this, after all this thread grows by at least 150 posts/day, but I was having a facebook sync problem. It seems as though alot are still having it as well(?). I have followed the whole OP, including your (publicanimal) 'allinone' fix. In your post linked in the OP it says it fixed Accountandsync problems. Does this include the facebook sync? Or is there still something to be worked out for a full facebook sync. I added a new friend in FB yesterday while rinning this rom, and although it was shown in the FB app, I couldn't for the life of me get it into my contacts; I select 'sync all' within FB.

I don't use facebook but apparently people were able to sync facebook pix with contacts by using an app called "syncmypix" or something like that.

I don't even know what the updater-script is, but I think all I would have to do is create a folder called "data" within the update.zip and place the local.prop file in it, and that would do it. I could be wrong but I think it is just that easy.

Yeah that's what I thought at first, but most 'update.zip' files only touch /system and the updater-script (it's in META-INF/*) file has commands to mount /system. I would think maybe? But maybe I'm thinking too hard, lol. Because if I am, then making these updater.zip files are so easy, a caveman could do it . . . .

Very. Great find.

Type into terminal emulator

su

echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 >> /data/local.prop

reboot

This will drastically reduce redraws.

I am going to go ahead and add this to my install guide since it's linked to in the OP. Everyone might as well do this. It would be easy to add the local.prop to the AllInOneFixes file as well.

does this work with launcherpro? i cant be without my contact and bookmark scrolling widget from lp.

Okay the new framework is ported, now I need help getting the kb backlight and haptic feedback tweaks back. What's a good app to decompile apks?

ramos:

I dont think the local.prop trick is specific to launcher...its more of a /data trick. It should not matter what launcher you use, nor what ROM you use iirc.

I did it on my girls phone with ss4.8 and ADW launcher, and it made a significantly noticable difference when changing orientation of the phone...it made the widgets pop up where they should be much quicker.

its a good command...I like it!

Wow really? I had no idea there was a term for that lol i had gotten so use to it happening on BB.5 with launcher pro i was use to it.. glad its being addressed

i use winrar it works great for system apps :)
winrar doesnt decompile the xmls so you can open them in note pad, so far the only apk i had trouble with is the settings.apk. it wasnt compiled right, hince why it fcs when touching sdcard and phone storage

yes but then you have to search for the color codes or whatever,if you use apk manager you can decompile the xmls and open them in note pad and actually read what everything is, also for the eri.xml (verizon lable) if you decompile it you can add as many caractors to it you want, not limited to verizon wireless count, mine once said "this phone has no service"

I use the "cheater's method". I open the .zips from a compatible theme in 7-zip without extracting them, and I don't touch the META-INF file and just delete files I don't want and drag in the files I do.

You might be right that this won't work, but you apparently know more about this than I do, and I created the update for this ROM (using the "cheater's method) :D

I just made the new .zip. I'm going to test it from a fresh install, give me some time.
