[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

yes but then you have to search for the color codes or whatever,if you use apk manager you can decompile the xmls and open them in note pad and actually read what everything is, also for the eri.xml (verizon lable) if you decompile it you can add as many caractors to it you want, not limited to verizon wireless count, mine once said "this phone has no service"

Could I just use Root Explorer and edit them and reboot?

no go. i really would like this though, is apk manager an application or a pc application?

I use the "cheater's method". I open the .zips from a compatible theme in 7-zip without extracting them, and I don't touch the META-INF file and just delete files I don't want and drag in the files I do.

You might be right that this won't work, but you apparently know more about this than I do, and I created the update for this ROM (using the "cheater's method) :D

I just made the new .zip. I'm going to test it from a fresh install, give me some time.

I'm going to hang out to see what happens. It's not that I know so much more, but that I read, look and then go "AHA!" (and from that I already figured out the "cheater's way" just never had cause to use it), then file that away. Most all of the 'update.zip' files I have looked at have a /system/* folder in them, but I can't remember one that had a /data folder in it.

the status bar is an png,if you mean the text in status bar and ongoing etc...thats in the services.jar, use colorchangerv3.jar to change those but no go on the clock. services.jar is messed up too and is missing the files to invoke the colorchangerv3.jar

I tried using the apk manager and it keeps giving me an error. I will put an apk in each folder and then I go to the script and press 9 (decompile) and it give sme an error

Apparently the original miui rom has a screenshot feature. To use it you would press the menu button and the volume down button. You will then hear the shot being taken and it should end up in your gallery. Unfortunately it doesnt seem to be functioning properly. It causes an instant soft reboot. This is something to be aware of not to do. Would be great if this feature was implemented into the droid version. I'm guessing the camera apk was swapped out of the original rom and replaced with an english version?

good find,im using the camera.apk that came from the original port and it works, does cause a soft reboot but takes the screen shot first

I found it accidently first . lol. Then I was reading through a translated "How to use" page on miui's website and read about the feature. Did you find the screenshot in your gallery? I couldnt find it.
