[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

@ publicanimal:

If it's not too much trouble, PLEASE pm me about your success/failure to include the local.prop file into your update.zip file. I don't know if you fail if I can help, but maybe between the two of us we can figure something out. It's been an hour, and I'm gonna go.

And on that note, just for the readers, my first post in this thread here was about all the people having troubles trying to apply the first 'fix' to "framework-res.apk" and having all the FC's. I posted the method to apply it manually while booted into recovery, to which thebowers(?) quoted and asked how y'all were doing it. But it got buried in a >150 post/day thread. Well, just a FYI, whenever you use ANY of the 'patches' (as in "MIUI_AllFixesInOne.zip"), you are applying them while booted into recovery.

I use the "cheater's method". I open the .zips from a compatible theme in 7-zip without extracting them, and I don't touch the META-INF file and just delete files I don't want and drag in the files I do.

You might be right that this won't work, but you apparently know more about this than I do, and I created the update for this ROM (using the "cheater's method) :D

I just made the new .zip. I'm going to test it from a fresh install, give me some time.

I'm going to hang out to see what happens. It's not that I know so much more, but that I read, look and then go "AHA!" (and from that I already figured out the "cheater's way" just never had cause to use it), then file that away. Most all of the 'update.zip' files I have looked at have a /system/* folder in them, but I can't remember one that had a /data folder in it.

You were right, it didn't work. At some point I might try to figure out how to do it.

I found it accidently first . lol. Then I was reading through a translated "How to use" page on miui's website and read about the feature. Did you find the screenshot in your gallery? I couldnt find it.

my bad, it was a screenshot i took yesterday, i just tried again and your right no screenshot is taken, guess i should have double checked before posting, sorry DF

Wow yeah this is perfect. With this post, I may go ahead and try this rom out when I get time this week. I've been wanting to give this a shot but everything was so scattered that I never had the time to really sit down and go through it all. So very much appreciated for combining the fixes the dev's have created and information on bugs and what not.

all of the stock lockscreenwallpapers are in the launcher

no. im coding the second wallpaper OUT of the lockscreen since its pointless. you will not need to set a second wallpaper because there will not be one.

Hey friend. What do you mean by "second wallpaper"?

You know how on the lockscreen there are two wallpapers? The one that slides up and down, and the transparent bottom where you can see your desktop one? Well I plan on taking the sliding up and down one OUT completely so you dont even have to set it. Its pointless anyway. (Unless you like that) I tried just setting a completely transparent image as the background, but the lockscreen image that slides up and down has a black colored background coded into it. So if you use a transparent background it just shows black.

I think some people might like it having 2 wallpapers, it doesn't seem so bad... I personally thought it was different and cool
