[HACKS] Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version

iIT WAS THE SD CARD....I DID IT ON MY 2 GIG ONE AND IT FREAKIN WORKED....SO WHAT NOW? CAN I TAKE THAT ONE OUT AND REPLACE IT? OR WHAT U THINK I SHOULD DO

Different SD card might be all you need. Make sure it's formatted FAT32 if doing it with a computer. Sometimes it's better to format it with the built in format utility on the phone, faster too. A 1GB card is fine.

what i am saying since it is rooted can i put my 16 gig memory card back in even though that file is on the 2 gig memory card? i need the bigger one

I could cut and paste a million of these.
I've followed the guide to a "T"
I've even followed all the suggestions with regards to Windows 7
Nothing seems to work for me.

The "only" time that seemed right was when device was clicked and showed on left side information, and I had the file in the "public" folder of the computer, which then showed the information on the right side pane. but even then I would get these errors.

can the guru's help on this? I want root and I want to try BB v.5

and btw i think that is y sometimes when i did clockwork from rom manage my sd could most of the time never mount also.....can i take the 2 gig out of my phone and my phone still have root while i reformat my other one and transfer everything back?

If the option under Settings> SD Card & Phone Storage is greyed out, format it on your PC using a card reader or while mounted in the phone. Only option I'm aware of.

i cant even mount this card in my adapters without getting an error to even format it..i hope i can format it through the usb of my phone on my computer

Your card is most likely simply dead. It happens sometimes.

However, this is beyond the scope of the OP at this point, and I'd recommend any further questions be moved to PM or a new thread. :)

@FBM

tried renaming file as you suggested, still a no go

tried reinstalling RSD, tried rebooting computer, tried using different USB port

but everytime come back to the invalid path issue.

This is going to sound counter-intuitive, but delete the error log for RSD Lite. That's step one. Step two will be to compare the new error log to the old one because of this line I'm seeing in the old one:

ERROR: \\?\c:\mc1.sbf contains an invalid path.

That weird character in your OP made me think of another post I'd read where the issue was the weird characters in the error log. Can you believe that?

Finally, have you moved it to the root of the C: drive? That's also fixed a lot of people's problems.

if I put the file on the root (C:\ ) of the drive I get invalid file path and the file properties does not populate.
if I put the file on the public area (as above), I get the file properties area populated, but still get the failed to flash problem.

I'm running W7 64bit and downloaded the proper drivers as referenced in the original guide/post.
