[HACKS] Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version

so iam at step 5 where we enter the bootloader
and now windows gets a popup to install new hardware with some se flash.... name
and then i try to install it and it says i need a cd
and my droid never showes up in rsd lite

Did you install the drivers like you were supposed to?
 
Windows 7 x64. I had to rename sbf file to MC1.sbf

Tried everything to get RSD Lite to see the .sbf file.
I had to rename it to MC1.sbf
 
Seems to be hit or miss if you do use it. Doesn't break anything. But you just may not be able to do it.

Thank you for this guide just did it with my droid 1 and i now have the superuser icon, now how do i make sure its working correctly, when i launch it it shows Apps, Log, Settings and no apps in list. Just want to make sure it's working
 
It won't show anything until you install something that requires root to run.

Try setcpu or drocap to test it out.
 
this is a great post im pretty new here and dont kno a lot of the achronyms used here sometimes but in this case im actualy surprised i didnt get stuck anywhere because i didnt understand something so now ill get to work and hopefully i wont "brick" my droid ill let you kno how it goes:blackdroid:

Good job, DJ! And yes, read the link Abe mentioned. That, the task killer (which also applies to antivirus programs), and the post-root links are all recommended reading. :wink:
