So interestingly I cant download the update for facebook. The install is unsuccessful. Turns out that facebook is in the system/apps. Is this why I cant get the update? Any reason for it to be there? Can I just change the .apk--->bak and install the app where it belongs?
Thanks
i'm lookin in the rubix 1.6 zip and don't see facebook in there... it shouldnt be in system/app it should be in data/, meaning its not even included in the rom and therefore should not be in system, you sure you're running 1.6?
BTW: I just learned about the security flaw in the droid x that allows you to bypass lock screen on any droid x or droid 2. To some of you, it's old news, but for those who don't know, if the phone is at lockscreen (whether it has a passcode or not) you can simply hold down the search button, then say "call voicemail" or "call [insert name]" and then it will call that person (which is the normal function of longpress on search button, but is not disabled at lock screen obviously). Then, you can simply press end call, and you're at the home screen. HomeSmack, which someone mentioned earlier, allows you to install an apk to fix this, and to set your own app for longpress on search button.
