rubiX Focused 1.6

So interestingly I cant download the update for facebook. The install is unsuccessful. Turns out that facebook is in the system/apps. Is this why I cant get the update? Any reason for it to be there? Can I just change the .apk--->bak and install the app where it belongs?
Thanks

i'm lookin in the rubix 1.6 zip and don't see facebook in there... it shouldnt be in system/app it should be in data/, meaning its not even included in the rom and therefore should not be in system, you sure you're running 1.6?

BTW: I just learned about the security flaw in the droid x that allows you to bypass lock screen on any droid x or droid 2. To some of you, it's old news, but for those who don't know, if the phone is at lockscreen (whether it has a passcode or not) you can simply hold down the search button, then say "call voicemail" or "call [insert name]" and then it will call that person (which is the normal function of longpress on search button, but is not disabled at lock screen obviously). Then, you can simply press end call, and you're at the home screen. HomeSmack, which someone mentioned earlier, allows you to install an apk to fix this, and to set your own app for longpress on search button.

I love the update to your Focused ROM but I did notice something. After a reboot a few of my Widgets give me that "Problem loading widget" message. And when i go to re add the widget its not on the widget list. But the app is still installed and everything. This is kind of a funky problem and I'm not sure if its because ADW is installed to /system but i hope we can work out a fix.

Im very certain where it is actually. I have no idea how it got there. So if i delete it from system/app it reinstall data/app it should update ok?
Thanks

Okay guys, I need your help. I LOVE this rom but am having a huge problem that is going to be a deal breaker. It drains my battery insanely fast!, like %20 per hour! I have wiped the cache and system twice now, doing a clean install and installed no apps and it still sucks the battery dry with virtually no usage. Battery usage is calling cell standby the culprit, which is not the case. I have 2 X's and a Droid 2 in the house and they all get great signals, but usage shows my standby usage at 65% plus saying I had no signal 50% or more of the time, which never happened on OTA or Rubix 1.0, or other roms I have tried. I did *228 and it changed nothing, I have the same prl as the other two phones. I am at a loss.....

Maybe a bad download or you may want to try an SBF recovery. Cause obviously, it shouldnt be doing that.

I downloaded, both original and updated with stock voltage and both do the same...

Then do an SBF recovery first and reinstall the ROM.

Ummm... The only way that is possible is if your battery went bad. It happens all the time! Take your battery into Verizon and swap it out for FREE.

Actually, I could very well be software related.....however, it could also very well be the battery - didnt think about that.

Pretty sure it's not the battery, cause I can go back to different rom and problem is solved, so I'll try sbf...

Yeah if its specific to a ROM or few ROMs only...its not hardware (battery) related.

Your phone may just not like that ROM :(
