rubiX Focused 1.6

What the hell. So I did the SBF thing and got android 2.3.15 on my DX, but now I'm at the android screen and it says touch the android to begin.

I touch the android, he turns white, but nothing happens!

Any ideas?

Edit: the power button and menu key work. the menu key has "wireless settings"

also it says im roaming

Hmm, boot to recovery and factory reset (Make sure to do this AFTER the .sbf is installed)... ?

Yep! I just wiped data/catche again and everything is great. Now i just have to root, install droid bootstrapper and Clockwork recovery and install one of my backups right?

FINALLY!!! fixed my battery drain issue with this ROM, loving it! Okay not sure which step actually fixed it but for those of you having the same issue here is the list of what I did:

SBF
Factory Reset
Wipe System/Data/Cache
Install Focused 1.6
Wipe System/Data/Cache
MANUALLY RE-INSTALL ALL APPS - no restore from Titanium.

Before this I was lucky to get 6 hours from this ROM, even idol would render 40% battery after 5 hours of no use. Today after above procedures I went 8 hours mild use and still at 80%!!!!!

Love the ROM man, thanks for all your hard work.

I got everything working. Then i installed the Gala theme and
I have no service. Any ideas?

Idea: You installed a theme that isn't compatible (gala is based on stock (blur) files).

Someone else who used the Gala theme said that he was able to connect every other reboot. So, I would give a couple options:
1) Restore Focused: Install Focused again, just don't wipe data/cache.
2) Live with issues caused by installing themes that weren't based on Focused 1.x, and whenever you reboot, just reboot again to get service back... (and or any other issues caused by installing a theme that contains "themed" versions of blur framework and apps....

I have apex v1.0 and bigdx theme installed currently. I like apex but id like to try rubix focused. Can I install it right on top of apex and the theme?

Focused will format system to install cleanly. You will just need to follow the instructions in the first post, and make sure to wipe data and cache to install Focused.

Be aware that the theme you used for apeX (which is based on 2.3.15 (Blur) will probably not work correctly on Focused. You will want to find a theme that was created from the Focused framework/apps for this ROM.

Black notification bar?

I ran Focused ROM for a couple of weeks and loved it. Moved to 1.6 and it's smoother and faster. Donated for both, thanks for all the good work!

Only thing I would like is a black notification bar. I wasn't looking for an entire theme. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

could not restore my nandroid.

Question - I was running rubiX 1.6 - but like everyone I just wanted to change things up. I went into clockwork recovery to flash my nandroid of 2.2 ota and it would not flash bc of "the md5 sums".

So I went ahead and did the SBF bc I never have done one and I wanted to learn how. It was a real nail biter. Whoo!

It dawned on me - and I am looking for clarification for the future here - if I had cleared data/cleared cache - would I then have been able to do the nandroid restore?

thanks for any words of wisdom. (btw I loved rubiX - just wanted to try something a little different).

Best guess:
If the md5sum was bad, sounds to me like the backup file was having issue.

The backups are held on your SDCard, so should still be there! /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
I'm guessing, if you tried to restore it again, that you would have the same issue... *shrug*

Nandroid restore should work regardless of clearing data/cache.. When restoring, you should clear data/cache after anyway.... which may save you from boot loops. *shrug*

So you wiped system/data/cache a second time after installing the rom? Just want to be sure you didnt accidently type that out twice, dont want to end up bricking myself cause Im about to try what you did

Just for the heck of it, leave the battery pulled out for >10-15 mins. If that doesnt work, then m afraid you'll have to sbf. there are several sites with sbf info. I guess there is sticky topic on this forum too.

Okay I did that, but it still bootloops on the rubix cube.

I've dled and installed RSD Lite, but the instructions that I found to do sbf are not when it's stuck in a loop.

To .sbf, hold vol.down, camera button, while booting. Will take you to the bootloader (a text screen).. THEN do the .sbf in RSD Lite.

info on Rootzwiki dot com.
I can't get to change usb to pc mode because I'm stuck at M logo. Will it still sbf, I can get to bootloader

Mode won't matter. You're in bootloader, the USB mode is only relevant once booted into system...

You should be totally fine.

Can't answer for him, but it won't hurt anything to wipe data/cache an extra time...
