rubiX Focused 1.6

I try to go into Accounts and it crashes everytime. Did a battery pull, still crashing.

Just me, or well known bug?

Must be you...b/c I just did that a few minutes ago to move the Angry Birds off my SD card and back to the main phone storage. You can possibly try clearing out some of the cache.

Anyone having issues installing the new Angry Birds update? I am trying to see if it is a DX issue or a ROM issue.

Nope...installed fine this morning. You can maybe try uninstalling it all together, rebooting and trying to reinstall.

I tried that and it didn't work.

I ended up restoring from a backup, unmounting the SD card, updating Angry Birds, then mounting the SD card again. Everything works dandy.

Battery and Other Assorted Issues RESOLVED

I followed a similar set of steps to what MBJR posted several pages ago to try to get my battery life to improve and I have now gone from 12-14 hours to 24+ with stock voltage/cpu speeds! As an added bonus my Google Translate app quit locking up too!

I think that a majority of my problems were probably due to stuff I downloaded while on previous Rubix and stock roms but was no longer needed and was likely stepping all over itself. I accordingly reloaded all my apps manually and reconfigured them without using backups (Titanium or Google) to make sure this didn't happen again as a result of Google putting exactly the mess I had back before back on automatically and breaking me again. If you are having battery problems/weird application behaviour you might try just that part by itself instead of the fully paranoid steps I took

Here is the full list of steps that I did (with credit to MBJR) just in case it helps someone else:

1. SBF
2. Re-root
3. Reboot Recovery and performed Factory Reset
4. Mounted System (Mounts and Storage option)
5. Formatted System
6. Formatted Data
7. Formatted Cache
8. Wiped Davlik Cache (Advanced Menu)
9. Reset Battery Stats (Advanced Menu)
10. Installed Rom
11. Factory Reset (yes again)
12. After first boot skipped the Google Account step
13. Settings/Privacy Menu - made sure Backup option was turned off
14. Added Google account under settings/accounts
15. MANUALLY re-downloaded all apps that I wanted
16. MANUALLY reconfigured Settings for the various apps and the phone itself

A Lot of steps but worked out quite well for me - YMMV

Now im curious to what you are doing with your phone for the 24+ hours. Are you just letting it sit there? what are your usages like? please try to be as accurate as possible, cause im getting great battery life now, just hit 48 hours with stock speeds but lots of under volting. I may be able to get more if i did what you did. just curious (:

I can get about 24hrs on Focused 1.6 with normal use; tweetdeck, internet, various apps, few phone calls, GPS locations, random searches, checking email, reading, etc. Then forgetting to charge, 15 minute car charge on way to work and phone has been used for 34hrs with that quick charge. I barely could get 10hrs back in the stock days. :) Loving rubiX.

Theme? I'm guessing something (likely blur?) got put back that isnt' supposed to be there?

If you reinstall Focused without a wipe of data/cach, it'll likely be fixed... (??)

How does your phone idle look in battery manager? I think thats whats causing it for me. If it's not way ahead of display for you than im going to try this out.

sorry if this has already been discussed, but unfortunately this forum doesn't let you search for "gps" (too short).

ever since rubix 1.0, and continuing with rubix 1.6 i haven't been able to use GPS. if i go into maps or some other GPS-enabled app the GPS icon doesn't even show up in the notification bar.

i've SBFd, wiped, checked that everything is enabled, etc. etc. to no avail. is anyone else having this problem??

also, on sephin's known issues with this ROM, he says that there is no "Enable Assisted GPS" option in settings. yet I have that option! could that be related? please keep in mind that i have fully wiped and SBFd.

Edit: i never did the OTA update to 2.2. i manually update to 2.2 each time i SBF. could that be the issue? anyone with non-OTA 2.2 have GPS problems?

i found out what was causing the trouble: using Titanium Backup to restore "[SETTINGS/BLUETOOTH] Settings Storage 2.2"

Ya, gotta be really careful when restoring anything system related. Titanium is known for all kinds of fun if you're not careful. Boot loops, endless sync icon, etc. etc. etc.
If the backup is taken from a ROM, then restoring to the same ROM is pretty much always safe, but from one ROM to another is usually bad... as a general rule... anyway, glad it's fixed!

just wanted to post this as an fyi for people using rubix and looking to theme

I had loaded Rubix 1.6 and then saw the Revo 10 percent battery mod Theme

I loaded that over rubix (it was not an approved theme) and it took without an issue, looked pretty good to

I then started to experience Random reboots frequently, not the quick reboots some people have mention but fullllll reboots sometimes even twice in a row after loading...to put it into context it was about 5-6 a day....then Juicemane released his Big Juice green theme yesterday

I switched over to that and I have yet to receive a reboot...just wanted to throw this out there incase anyone has tried or has been thinking about loading the revo 10% theme
