I'm not sure why you lost the transparency in the original .png in the first place. I've traditionally just pulled images I like from different themes. I've got a theme that I really like that Frankenstein's some elements from the Black Bar Mod, Black Juice Blue and some of my own home-cooked icons.

this may be impossible due to the locked bootloader, but is there anyway to incorporate extra settings like in ultimate droid for the droid 1, there was settings for rotary lockscreen, boot animations, keyboards, overclocks etc..?

Those are more than just settings, and don't have much to do with the bootloader...
They are scripts that were added, that simply replace the existing lockscreen, boot animation, keyboard, and overclock scripts.

Overclock scripts are in Focused, and keyboard replacement is available as patch (unofficial, see sephtin.com).. OC is also avialable via apps, etc.

Don't know what drod has planned for future versions, if things like these will be included, but they're options...

I am 24 hours on this ROM and I have to say its freaking amazing!! This is my first time trying to load a ROM and you guys have blown my socks off...Literally i have holes in my socks

I didnt read through all 89 pages (maybe I should have lol) but is there gonna be a fix for full widescreen camera? If not no big deal cause the pics still look good. Also running the Sinful Green Theme and loving it!

I think all Seph needs is the .png with your edits so he can sort out what went haywire with the transparency.

Download and flash the Blur camera to your DX for widescreen.

You can load the blur camera if you really need wide screen... Just as a reminder, the 6MP wide screen, is nothing more than a cropped 8MP pic though.. *shrug* Don't forget you can adjust the settings on the AOSP camera (the included camera) by tapping the settings button (top right), and scrolling down. (The scrolling down part is TOTALLY NOT obvious... most people miss it.. including me, until they've seen it once).

If you decide to use it, install .zip from recovery (do not wipe data/cache).
It will replace the AOSP camera if you install it.

Thinking of rooting and installing a new rom.

With the battery issues would it be wise for my first time to just stick with 1.8.6 ??

Also does this rom have music controls mapped to the volume hardware keys?

I haven't had any battery issues with 1.8.9. In fact, I've been hugely satisfied with it. I think it's a great way to break your Droid X ROM cherry.

No. I suspect you may have to find a music player that supports this.

Thanks for the fast replies guys!! I downloaded the patch but I dunno...I keep playing with it and you showed those settings to me. I just might keep this camera. Hows the video quality on the ROM versus the standard X 720? And also am I missing something or is there no HDMI out on here?

HDMI is a known issue, drod has stated that he's working on it however.

The AOSP Camera does indeed have 720p recording capabilities.. again, settings top right, scroll down to the option to verify that's what it's set to.
