rubiX Focused 1.9.5

Thanks DaveG1968. You may be correct with the AOSP because I ran Rubix and it had the same issue. Apex seems to work fine though.

What dialer/phone app does Apex use? Do you know? Just curious, trying to see if there's some way we can make the custom ringtones work better with Rubix, and any info on ROMs that they work right on could potentially be helpful to drod and/or sephtin and/or whoever else in figuring the issue out. Of course, I have no idea how high on the list this particular issue is, it might be pretty low compared to getting other things working. And that's cool. I can get along without them. It'd be great if they worked, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Other than this particular issue Rubix runs awesome for me.

Apex is blur based. Its probably a really easy fix if I were to try and pinpoint it, but since using apps like ringdroid from the market allow custom ringtones to work correctly, I'd like to get the rest of the kinks worked out first :)

drod, I totally understand getting other kinks out of the way first, there are way more important things than ringtones. But Ringdroid isn't working for everyone I'm guessing, as I've tried it several times on mine and it still won't consistently use the custom ringtones.

Just to be clear, this is in no way a complaint. LOVE the ROM, and I'm ok with not having them for the time being. Just saying it will be nice to have them work consistently when you get to that point on your todo list. dancedroid

Lol.
I'm glad I'm not the "old" old guy here. Mine wasn't even an electric one. And it was like 50lbs.

Cool, I'm glad I'm not the only one that has the problem. I think its just a png swapping patch, right? Or is the color of those labels dictated in some XML somewhere?

I honestly have no clue. I don't know much code besides Java and HTML (and I'm learning CSS for my website). And I'm only taking a Java class. But you can't expect more from a middle schooler. Or can you?

But I think it is a PNG Swap, but I've read that you need a PNG for each keyboard, not the individual keys.

When I was in middle school...I was a whiz with my typewriter :)

this is the second rom i was loading on my X. but I did something wrong. Instead of doing a factory reset, i hit the second option i believe, which was to wipe the cache. I then installed the rom, then i hit apply sdupdate.zip (or something of the sort). Now due to my foolish noobiness, when I boot, I am stuck with the Rubix animation, and it won't go any further... what should I do?!?

OKay so I held home as i was booting, and it went to the android guy with a ! screen. I then did a factory reset, and now i'm back on rubix :)

It seems as though my battery life is stabilizing :]
Light to moderate use: texting, calling, a bit of maps, and a lot of droid forums
I'm at 7.5 hours unplugged and @ 60% battery life remaining.

Maybe all it really needed was time! Let's see how it does in a couple more days.

Any thoughts about removing data throttling on 1.9.5. Some folks on DXF have used the GummyJar hack and had success, any comments from drod or Sephtin on the safety of this hack?

I know that 1.9.5 and Gummy are very similar, but are they so similar that running this hack they won't have issues?

If other people are using it with success.. it's not part of Focused, it's something that you can choose to try if you want (if it doesn't work, just remove it... removal is as easy as re-loading Focused with no wipe).

Honestly, I'm not huge on taking framework files form one ROM, and migrating them to other ROMs.
I'd MUCH rather know what the change(s) are, and make them myself. I can think of 3 changes to services.jar that I STILL don't have steps to (if anyone has links directly, please PM or email me with info! ;) Or, if there are other hacks to services.jar that are worthwhile.. also lemme know! :)

Those hacks to services.jar that I'm aware of, and wish I had more info on:
--Data Throttling
--Default minimum brightness setting (Someone said this was in framework, if so, disregard) :)
--Remove clock (and/or change font/color)

Sorry if this doesn't exactly answer your question... If/When I can find the exact steps to create them, I'd be happy to make each available using the actual framework-res from the appropriate ROM.

This might help with the data throttling part http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=863923

If it's asking you if you want to subscribe... then you don't have the proper patch from TBH (Note: I do not condone doing stuff that is against the terms of service... educational purposes only, yadda yadda).

guys did your gps work? my its not, please help me

If you mean navigation you have to download google voice search app first. Then open google maps and manually input a random destination then hit navigate. Once it loads up you can exit and the navigation app will now work fine.

This is a very noob question, but how do I get to 2.3.340 OTA?? I would like to run this rom and BigDX's theme for it. I am currently rooted with 928 Black Glass theme...system version 2.3.15.
