All the tied-together, integrated social messaging crap was all Motorola Blur.
Thankfully, it's been graciously removed by the dev!

Yahoo and facebook you can get from market place. It may be seperated this way but you can still get them
As stated, you can still do each individual function, but now they're all handled properly by their individual applications!

Enjoy!

Now... Just waiting for 1.9.7 and 2.0... Cant wait... Thanks for all ur hard work... These roms are wonderful... Wish I knew how to do this kinda thing

Thank you kind sir, as as you seem to be the expert/goto guy, i was wondering if you could help me by letting me know how in the world i can sync my already entered numbers with their respective facebook, since my address book is filled with all my friends from facebook, having two of each is quite annoying. Thanks in advanced!!

Ya, unfortunately, that is the part I am completely clueless about. I don't sync anything at all between my contacts and facebook. My facebook is filled with old friends from highschool that I like to know how they're doing, but I'll never (and I mean that) never call.
So.. ya got me.

I'd just make sure that you have the contacts that you want to be able to contact/communicate with via the phone in your google contacts, and go from there.

Now, if sync with Facebook is what you're after.. there IS an app on the Market that does this very well. I don't recall that name (as obviously I don't want or need it.. :P) hopefully someone that has used/suggested this app can come forward and comment. :)

Under individual contacts, when you click on someones name, there should be an option for "join" which is the same as link. Join/link the two together and it should be fine

Well also, within the facebook app there is a setting for syncing where you can choose to sync with existing contacts only. This will make facebook only link contacts that you have in your contacts list already and ignore the ones you will never talk to.

First off, great mod, super fast, no force closes anymore!!

A few questions that I couldn't find answers for in this thread...

1. How do I make it so the home button doesn't make the screen zoom out to show all pages?( I only use two pages so I do not need this)

2. How do I make it so the notification bar can be swiped closed by swiping up anywhere on the screen? As of now I have to go to the bottom and swipe the little bar up to get it to close. I have the swipe options set to swipe up to be open/close and swipe down to be open/close. Works fine for bring the bar down, but not going back up.

3. I used to be able to set it so my phone icon on the Dockbar went directly to favorites instead of the dial pad. Is there a way to do this with rubix?

Thank you!

VPN trouble

I've been on Rubix 1.9.5 for a while now with great results. I just recently decided to try out the VPN service. When I try to connect w/any of the VPN connections I created (settings->Wireless & network settings->VPN Settings", I just returns immediately with with a generic error. In adp/logcat showing the android log, I see:

1279 2299 W ActivityManager: Unable to start service Intent { act=android.net.vpn.SERVICE }: not found
01-18 12:19:10.294 29879 29879 W VpnManager: failed to connect to VPN service

Is there any packages around which I could add this back in to the system and/or ROM? Thanks!!

I assume you're using ADW as your home launcher? If so, have you even gone into settings to take a look around?

1) From within ADW (home screen), Menu button> ADW Settings (probably under more)> General settings> Homebutton binding. Try a few of them out, but what it sounds like you want is "Move to default desktop".

2) Same settings window, set swipe down action to open/close notifications.. then you can swipe down anywhere on the screen to open the notifications, and swipe down again anywhere on the screen to close the notifications.

3) Make a shortcut on a home screen for Contacts, and drag it over the dialer button. Next time in contacts, select favorites, and close out of contacts. Next time you open contacts, it should take you directly to favorites...

Another good tip for ADW... change the swipe up action to Open/close DockBar.
When you swipe up, it will appear to hide your normal launcher bar.. but what's actually happened, is that the launcher has been replaced with a "DockBar". The dockbar can hold up to 36 actions... just scroll through them left and right. swipe up again to return to your normal launcher bar. (I also set my launcher bar to have 5 icons, instead of 3... making there be almost no need for more than 2 or 3 screens.. just for widgets mostly).

HTH!

Pretty sure Tun.ko isn't included with Focused by default, and it sounds like there are some framework components/permissions not included. So I'm guessing this isn't as easy as installing a package.

I don't have ADW General settings, I am using ADWLauncher EX as I had already purchased it and I guess it is different.
Is there a way for me to get the one that came with rubix back without reinstalling rubix? I had deleted it thinking I did not need it.

Thanks!

Same settings are there, you just need to find them... dig around a little.. :P
