Just tested out camera gallery. Im having the same problems that others are pic selected from gallery is not the one that gets displayed. Any fix for this?

If you're having a gallery issue, it's likely cause of the 2D gallery vs. the 3D gallery. Try running the "gallery" script and swap to the 3D gallery, then test.

I tried both the 2d and 3d gallery and can't re-create
how many photos do you have in there?

Do I need to re-run this if i install a theme or something?

Yes, themes usually overwrite the services.jar so you have to reinstall post theme unless the theme dev includes it. (wish they would)

reading up on throttling i'm seeing people are having mixed results depending on their area....fair assessment?

Downside, You can't get to settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks.

Other than that, it either has no affect on speed or a giant affect on speed.

This depends on location (is vzw throttling your area) or usage (have you gone over 5gb this month)

Accept to see what was there before modifying the services.jar, I'd never opened mobile networks in settings, so I don't miss it. I do live in a blanketed throttle area, so my speeds go from 450kb/s to 2mb/s. So I can't live without it :)

ROFLMAO @ gallery problems...

If I recall, when RubiX first started incorporating the 3D gallery, people *****ed and moaned about wanting the 2D one. Every release of RubiX since Focused 1.0 I've seen complaints on the gallery. So Drod finally caves in and gives you all the 2D gallery you've been asking for, and now you realize it isn't so hot after all. LOL! Just for the record Drod, I like 3D Gallery :)

Hehe, didn't know there was so much drama. The only thing I ask for in a gallery, is Picasa support, be it 2D/3D. Without support for Picasa it's completely useless. Period. :D

Is there any way for DRod to incorporate a questionnaire upon first boot of his roms asking which of these two apps do you like, do you want this enabled/disabled, etc.? Would save a lot of questions and redundant feedback, imo.

I just finished reading the whole post and have a question about the backup script.
I'm in the non-themed 1.9.5. According to this post and the post for 1.9.5, I have to:

1.- run the script as su
2.- install 1.9.7
3.- log into google, do the basic setup, etc
4.- run the script to restore
5.- reboot
and the script will execute on the reboot, right?
So, the backup script from 1.9.5 is compatible with 1.9.7?

Thanks in advance for your help!

this is correct.

Thanks Drod.
It would help if I followed my own instructions. I wrote down the directions and the steps I wanted to take before executing the install and forgot to write down "run backup".
Did the whole thing without a backup... market is downloading all apps now. Will take an eternity.

So much for my planning. Meh...

I just think that an install wizard is overkill, $1000 solution for a $50 problem.

if you want the old gallery back, with Picasa just open terminal > su > gallery -3d and you got it.

I've toggled back and forth a few times and found I prefer the -2d one because it's faster and I don't care about viewing my picasa albums on my phone.

With all due respect, no one was "asking for" a 2D gallery that doesn't work right.

Overkill, but would save a lot of stupid questions like mine since I never had a use for the Terminal Emulator before this. :D

Honestly, most rom's handle this in the way of a toolbox.
Post install you have an app you can fire up that lets you toggle stuff on/off. Liberty and TranQ do it that way.

I'm just not sure if Drod has plans to move in that direction.

True dat.

I guess that was the reason it was never included before though.

Don't quote me on this but... I have a feeling it might be in his plans.
