rubiX Focused 1.9.7, back and better than ever

Overkill, but would save a lot of stupid questions like mine since I never had a use for the Terminal Emulator before this. :D

Honestly, most rom's handle this in the way of a toolbox.
Post install you have an app you can fire up that lets you toggle stuff on/off. Liberty and TranQ do it that way.

I'm just not sure if Drod has plans to move in that direction.

Don't quote me on this but... I have a feeling it might be in his plans.

it does seem to be the next logical step right?
create the scripts then create the front end ui.
but I agree, i don't want to assume how he's going to proceed.

OK, quick question. Does the backup script backup both the apps AND their data? Or just the apps? I would like to use this method over TB if it guarantees no problems when upgrading ROMS, but I want to have my app data back too, not just the apps.....

ROFLMAO @ gallery problems...

If I recall, when RubiX first started incorporating the 3D gallery, people *****ed and moaned about wanting the 2D one. Every release of RubiX since Focused 1.0 I've seen complaints on the gallery. So Drod finally caves in and gives you all the 2D gallery you've been asking for, and now you realize it isn't so hot after all. LOL! Just for the record Drod, I like 3D Gallery :)

With all due respect, no one was "asking for" a 2D gallery that doesn't work right.

True dat.

I guess that was the reason it was never included before though.

Before this release, I always assumed 2d gallery meant blur gallery. I wonder if a lot of people had the same misconception?

I usually jump right in on installing the newest version but y'all got me a lil hesitant. 1.9.5 have been running beautifully for me since it's debut. Think I'll wait until I at least go home to do the install.

On second thought, WTH? Downloading now....

I ran quickclock and clicked recalibrate. I would have assumed that it would calibrate correctly, however, it went as far as -120 vsel and still had not crashed the phone. Was at 115 degrees when I finally got too uncomfortable and clicked cancel. I want to make sure I get the most out of it, but after that last run I don't know that my phone is taking to it correctly. Anyone else have this problem?

I have run quickclock 4 times, it finally settled down after rebooting my phone 6 times. Mine never overheated but continued to reboot due to low voltages around 12@300mhz and then once it ran over 1.45Ghz. I have been running fine with JRummy @ 1.35Ghz and this app set my OC @ 1.157Ghz. Like the app just wish I could view the present setting?, or am I missing something.

Just got it..

LOL,

Call me slow, but I just realized while looking at the rubix blurry thread why the name here is Focused.

I thought Drod was just very focused on what he was doing, or the rom was focused on a certain goal.

Now I get it, the opposite of blurry is focused.

Very clever drod, very clever indeed...

Edit: BTW, used focused on and off since .06 version or so...

LOL it's funny it took you this long but welcome to the party :)

Edit: and it IS focused on a particular goal... not being Blurry.

Since version 9.5 I keep getting sound files called raw in my play list on all music apps. I think they are on the sd card. Can I just delete that directory?

Thanks!

Pretty sure I've seen this caused by an application that doesn't contain the .nomedia file to tell the media player not to include those files...
rather than delete, if it's a dir that contains files for some app.. just add a file called .nomedia, and media player won't look in that directory, or any subdirectories...

Email

I love the new Rubix 1.9.7. I see you can remove the email app. Des that mean I can put in the blur email/messaging app. This one allows read/compose font enlargement.

Ah! I need to do this! Just created .nomedia in the gameloft folder. Rebooting required to remove those files from music player?

Here's a zip you can run from clockwork to remove the data throttle on rubix 1.9.7.

I pulled this services.jar straight out of the latest rubix, so no worries about compatibility.

Do I need to re-run this if i install a theme or something?

Yes, themes usually overwrite the services.jar so you have to reinstall post theme unless the theme dev includes it. (wish they would)

Actually, for anyone that does much config/changing/etc. of wireless settings, this is a huge problem. Hidden ssid's don't reconnect, so this menu is really needed for someone who has an AP with a hidden ssid, etc.

This is why most devs won't include it by default...
