They do recommend an honest charge when you first get it.... I'd say even after it hits 4200mv it should sit a few more hours if you honestly want full capacity.

finally getting some good usage of my seidio extended battery....had the battery about a week now, and after a long, full charge last night, ..i used my phone from 10.a.m and its still going right now (3:05 a.m!)...pretty impressed, but i agree with windstrings...i rebooted my phone midday to get rid of the flashing red light on the battery meter, and batteryleft showed a completely different percentage and time left...so i guess im just gonna go by the mv's...right now i am at 3750mv...so i guess im approaching the end. also, has the mv's showed to be reliable for batteryleft?..cause i guess the % and time left have proven to be faulty when the phone is rebooted

ive had it for a month.. and i did 5-6 good cycles on it.. left it to charge for 18 hours the first time..
still, im gonna cycle charge it, and see if its just not charging fully.. also.. if you notice, a reboot will cause it to not be at 100% charge, ive rebooted 3 times, and was still sitting at 70% charged.. the problem is that the phone wont allow it to charge completely.. seidio needs an app, to override stock settings..

proof in point, im sitting at "charged"and its only at 3868 mV...
after a reboot, im at 70% ... 3773 mV... nowhere near 4200.. thats where my problem is.. i cant even get a decent charge.. i bet im not even at 50% charged realtime.which would explain the 6-9 hours of use before completely dead..
i really think i have a bad cell though.. i'll be calling tomorrow

I got mine yesterday and installed it. My factory battery meter showed displayed a ?mark inside the icon. I hooked it up to computer to let it charge for the recommended 8 hours. When I woke up around 3am the phone was dead. It had been charging since 7pm. So I hooked it up to my yall charger until 7am. It seemed like it charged but died when I uninstalled battery left. Any suggestions on why I am getting a questionmark in the battery icon and why it appears like the phone is not accepting the battery?

Well I just ordered mine. Used 10% off coupon LOVE2010, got it for $58.45 with free shipping.

Now just to make sure I understand the order I should use when getting this battery, I should put it in the phone, charge for at least 8hrs, then install Battery Left, let the phone die fully, and do that for at least a few days in the hope Battery Left gives an accurate meter?

What do ya'll mean by rebooted? Are you taking the battery out and putting it back in or just turning the phone off and back on?

No battery pull.. just a simple reboot.
Funny after charging all night... this time battery left thinks full time will be 25 hours..... I wonder if thats cause I rebooted yesterday when it had about 3 hours left because originally it thought I would have around 31 hours.

Anyway... today it still says "moderate" accuracy.. just like yesterday..... I wonder if battery left knows something went erratic from the reboot and so is repeating its calibration today that it tried to do yesterday?

anyway.....the biggest issue is the funky firmware of the 2.0.1 OS.. hopefully 2.1 will be better.

Try putting your battery in again... maybe a pin is not getting connection on the back of the battery....

If you consistently don't get an error with your stock battery and you do with that one.... it must be bad.....

Ive been off the charger about 3.5 hours now and system says 90%... battery left says 88% and I'm at 4128mv.

Some chargers "aftermarket" don't put out as much amperage... "they hit the battery with less voltage".

And many USB chargers don't charge too well either... basically because some computer usb ports are hotter than others.

Wall chargers are the best.....

But after saying all that, if you used to get better mv readings with your other battery, you should also be getting the same mv readings with the extended battery too "allowing for more charge time if the charger can't deliver more amps needed to charge a bigger battery".

You have quite a while left if your in the mid 3.7 range.... maybe 20 - 30% left.

Seems I remember the mv changing "don't want to reboot mine right now" when you reboot but that's to be expected if its close, just because of going from no load "when the phone is off" to heavy load "reboot".

I haven't tried to do graphs or anything to see if the mv reading corresponds to the percent left readings.

Twice now, my battery has died as soon as it gets to about 3.6mv or less.
And it should get to 4.2 when charged..... but as with a car battery..

Even a car battery achieves voltage that would appear to mean its charged, but it holds that voltage for hours as the cells all equalize and come up as the intensity of the boiling occurs as hydrogen is escaping the cells.

The last 20 - 30% charge possibly happens after you see the 4.2 reading.
I don't know that for a fact, but I do know LiIon as well as most batteries climb pretty fast and plateau out as the remaining last gets charged.
LiIon in most devices "almost all" are protected meaning the top end voltage is limited so they don't get too hot or explode.

So when you look at it in that light, it means the last part of the charge is softer than the other part as the battery could accept higher than 4.2mv "if allowed by the protection circuit" but can't..so it has to sit there and the top end charge happens slower than the rest did.

Looking a mv readings to determine state of charge is not an exact science...especially on the top end.

I just got mine in the mail today!! and it not horribly ugly in person but yes its not as slick as the droid with the normal battery. But it actually feels nicer to hold while using it, which i really like.

Will let you all know how it performs and how battery left works with it!
