Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

t
for those who have the extended battery, do you also have the seido innocase for the extended battery (the snap-on shell)? if so, how do you like it? does it really add a lot of bulk to the device overall?

Meh, its not the greatest thing in the world, but it's not bad. When i first opened it up it seemed like a tiny cheep piece of plastic. However, it does have a special coating on the outside to make it "soft".

As far as fit and bulk, fits fairly well (some places aren't as snug as i would like along the side) and I've found it does make typing on the top row of the keyboard a tiny bit more difficult (but maybe i just have fat thumbs).

Overall, I would get it again... since i got it as part of a combo for $13.50.

So I received my Seidio battery yesterday and I put it in my phone to bring the charge down. It took almost a full 24 hours. I put the phone on my Seidio desk charger and about an hour in I had to run out and took the phone off the charger. I used it while I was out and the battery died. I put it on the charger and now I just get constant reboots and I left it for an hour and when I took the phone off the charger there is not charge, yet all indicators said that it was 100% charged. I know that was not true, but no charge at all. I'm a little worried. I am going to let it charge over night to see what happens.

I had the same rebooting problem in the cradle when I let the battery drain until the phone shut down. The only way I got it to stop was by plugging the battery in a wall charger for about an hour and then putting it back in the phone and placing the phone in the cradle.

I figure the rebooting must have something to do with a minimum level of reading or output from the battery necessary to not trigger the firmware to shut the phone down.

One problem I keep having with Battery left is the information I designate to show on the widget itself resets to the initial settings when I recharge overnight so I have to go into settings and change them. I like showing system %, 24 hr time and voltage on the widget so I can see it at a glance.
I'm still waiting for my 1600 battery from Hong Kong so I can experiment with that.

It does that when it "self calibrates".... Matt said he has fixed that issue, but I don't think another release has been released since he said that.

After you recharge and take it off the charger, if you wait awhile it will usually come back.

well from what I've noticed, make sure you charge it over night. the one day that I charged during the day while using it, it didn't do well at all and after that day it hasn't seemed to last as long as it did on my first good 8plus hours. as of now it will never go over 4200mv on charge and as soon as I unplug it, it drops to 4150ish and doesn't last as long as it did.

above all, charge it overnight. charging it for a few hours thru the day seemed to do more harm than not letting it died all the way before charging.

I got my replacement battery. It actually shipped fairly which was nice. I haven't had a "normal" use day yet. and i'm still going through the initial full charge/discharge cycle, so I don't have much to report yet. It at least will get to 4185 or so on a full charge where the other one would not.

On a side not, does anyone also use the seidio car dock?

I should be getting my 2600 later tonight. My plan is to put the battery in the phone and put it on the charger. I do not plan on using the phone at all until tomorrow. That should give it a 10 to 11 hour initial charge.
I have read about "battery left" and the idea of the app having to calibrate itself to the battery (whether it is the OEM or other battery). If that is the case, should I install the app and then install the 2600? Will that get me off to a decent start as far a calibration?

From what I understand, it doesn't much matter if you install the app before of after. The app learns by watching how long it takes to drop in 10% increments (like from 90% to 80%). So either way, you should be good.

for me the battery left is good because it shows the battery voltage in real time right on your home screen. charge till 4200mv ish and mine dies around 3500mv ish(I'm a very hard battey user) so yours may stay on at lower levels if your not working the battery hard, like say 3350mv. either way, just keep an eye on it and you will see what is low for you. for me 3500 and I'm not around the time to put it on for the night and i don't play with it much.

as for the bettery level part, it may someday work, but as of now mine has never showed me anything useful on that front. but from temp I can get an idea of how hard I'm using it compaired to voltage drop.

I have a pretty routine day and night. The minute I get home from work, the phone goes on the charger and is not used. I should have no problems getting the required 5 to 6 full 8 hour charges for those days.
I guess I want to make sure I do the whole process correctly in the initial stages due to the fact that it is not a cheap investment.

Hello! I do have the extended battery and I have to say that it gives me at least a full day. I don't know why my phone uses sooooo much battery, but it does. GPS off, Wi-Fi off, screen brightness on 55%.

I would like to get the media dock and a charger specific to the extended battery but the Seidio site isn't clear about what charger I need so I emailed them. We'll see what they say in their response.

I was not getting a day's use out of my stock battery, so I am totally IN LOVE with the extended one. It's worth every penny!

As far as Battery Life goes, for me anyway, it is a good solution to the phone improperly reading the extended battery. I have let my phone drain and recharge and I rely mostly on the amount of mV left. That gives me an idea of how much time I have left.

Thanks Forum and Forum Gods and Goddesses for all of your help. Maybe Seidio will get back to me soon.

Not that its critical, but I was wondering if you are using the stock charger or a 3rd party. Yours could be a tad shy on the amperage it will deliver.
Mine does go to about 4225 or better while on charge making it drop to about 4200 or slightly less when its immediately unplugged.

Another thing I've noticed is is the ambient temp is rather cool "70 degrees or less" it tends to be less..... warm rooms like 76 or more seems to let the mv reading go a tad higher.

But at any rate thats not so important and long as your giving it the time to reach equalization. The battery protection will limit the voltage passing through anyway.

yeah, stock charger. i did get over 4200 the first time, but after it died on me and i only charged it a few hours threw out the day as i had time to around a plug, it hasn't been the same since. today was a pretty heavy use day and it died on my a few hours ago. i'm hoping it gets back to the way it was before that day. we will see. atleast the last 2 times have been full drains to shut down and 8 plus hours on the charger.

tomorrow is normally a lite day since i'm busy at work. so maybe a good charger from not full dead will be different.

anyways, still wayyyyy better than trying to carry around 3 stock batterys to make it thru a day lol

I have my screen timeout set to go off in one minute.
Take a look in your battery usage readings to give you a clue as to whats using the juice.
