Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

Has anyone else out there tried any other programs to read the information on their Seidio extended battery? If so, how did it/they compare to Battery Left?

wonder if there's a way to have battery left to look at load vs voltage and use that to figure out battery amount left. I'm thinking since the phone can graph out what uses the battery and how much, maybe load can be worked out from there?

anyways, I won't be able to charge it 8 hours this time, I'll see how long a hour or 2 lasts today and charge it over night tonight. all kinds of out of order, but oh well

Only reason i don't get the extended battery is because it won't fit in the car dock or multimedia dock. If i could deal with the bulge of a 2600 milliamp/hour i'd say why not make something even larger, like 3600- 4000?

You are aware Seidio makes a dock just for use with the extended battery?
I know its more expense but its there.

I just sit mine on edge and it rest at a perfect angle for viewing to see if I have any messages I've missed.
I mute my phone and leave it blank/black and just watch for the little blinking light if a message comes in so as to not add light to the room.

I wouldn't want a large display going... I like it pretty dark.

I just received my extended battery today. I put it in my phone immediately to begin the drain/charge process. It is tough to read threw 50+ pages of feedback, but can anyone offer me any advice so that I may get the most out of this battery.

Thanks.

all I can tell you forsure is to make sure you charge it over night, then your good. but charging it a few hours thru the day like I used to do the stock one doesn't work well.

you will know its charged when the voltage is 4200mv is less and it isn't charged even if the phone says it is

When the phone says "full" its not really just yet..... add another 2 - 3 hours if your trying to test just what it can do.

Once you've cycled it a few times "per Seidio's suggestions on the box" your good to use it how you want after that.

There are no limitations over the stock battery as far as use.

If you want to drain it dead or keep topping it off.. either way is ok... however total battery life longevity will work better if you don't get in the habit of doing total drains... Lithium Ion "likes" to be topped off or left on the charger when not in use.

I just put mine on when I'm sleeping, unless I"m trying to purposely exercise it to run it down for tests etc.

Its a good battery.... literally almost twice the muscle of the stock battery.

When I plug in the phone to charge it will read full after a couple of hours and stop charging. I have noticed that if I leave it plugged after a couple of more hours it will suddenly switch from 100% charged to 50% and begin charging again for about an hour or so. There is probably something in the firmware that is set up for charging the stock battery and after (x) amount of charging it thinks the battery is full. With the above in mind it would probably be best to let it charge overnight if you want a full charge instead of just charging a couple of hours during the day. Has anyone else noticed this behavior with theirs?

Am not 100% sure how long the battery will last but damn am at 3670v according to battery left and i've been running it for 28hrs without reboot or charging.. even though the phone is telling it has 5 percent left , i've been using wifi and downloading music from tubedroid without a problem.. this battery does not want to die lol lol...worth every penny..

I just bought this battery and I'm trying to calibrate the charge and the readings using the batteryleft app. I fully charged overnight and I'm now trying to run the battery down by turning everything on, setting brightness to high, and playing high quality youtube videos. So far I'm only down to 3870 mv (even though battery left says I have 1% battery left). Any tips on how to run this thing down quicker, and how long do I have left to go? Also will cycling like this eventually allow the readings to be accurate?

Matt is going to completely rework how battery left works so its not dependent upon the Android system..... its up to you whether you want to wait for the next edition as this one will wipe everything if it senses the database gets corrupted.

just ordered my 2600 extended battery. i believe it was covered, but i just want to confirm it for sure:
i understand that as soon as it is possible, you should charge the battery for a full 8 hours. from that point, 5 to 6 FULL charges after that should have the battery operating at its best (or somewhere in that range).
what i wanted to confirm is that from what i have read, it is NOT necessary to fully drain the battery. basically, charge the battery, use the phone, and charge it for a full 8 hours at the very least.
is this correct?

You have most of it right. The seidio paperwork will suggest you do a few full discharges "after" your initial 8 hour charge and then use as normal.... meaning no need to sweat doing deep discharges after that.

However its not a bad idea once a month or two... it just helps bring all the cells down so that when you charge them back up the equalize better.

A deep charge pretty much does that same job... just every so many weeks a good discharge helps keep all cells equal.

But otherwise, there is no reason to feel compelled to need to discharge fully.

thanks for the clarification. i wont get into the "battery status reading" just yet.

i should get it by tuesday and i will keep ya posted.

for those who have the extended battery, do you also have the seido innocase for the extended battery (the snap-on shell)? if so, how do you like it? does it really add a lot of bulk to the device overall?

I love my case... its plastic but feels like velvet or suede and fits very snug.....

So I received my Seidio battery yesterday and I put it in my phone to bring the charge down. It took almost a full 24 hours. I put the phone on my Seidio desk charger and about an hour in I had to run out and took the phone off the charger. I used it while I was out and the battery died. I put it on the charger and now I just get constant reboots and I left it for an hour and when I took the phone off the charger there is not charge, yet all indicators said that it was 100% charged. I know that was not true, but no charge at all. I'm a little worried. I am going to let it charge over night to see what happens.
