Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

Yea I just ordered the 2800 and the spare battery charger last night. If the Eris reads the battery better, cant someone chop up the Eris ROM or kernel and import the battery info into the Droid?

I would be willing to make a donation to help that cause

New to Droid. Looking at extended battery. Stupid question, but is there enough space under the Innocase extended case to fit a spare standard droid battery? One standard battery in the phone, a second one inside the case as a standby.

Love my Droid.

For what its worth.. I talked with Seidio and they will be fully backing the new Droid "incredible" with accessories and extended batteries.... they didn't say how big.. but I'm sure it would be at least 2800mah..

The Incredible runs at 1Ghz so will need more power..... the extended would be a perfect match for that setup.

Nope Plus it's a bit of a PITA to take the case off. I would not want to do that on a regular basis. Plus the more times you pull the case off the better the chance of breaking it.

Nice thought but nope.. it fits pretty tight and snug.
The extended last so long, you wouldn't want to carry the extra weight for nothing anyway.. better to put that extra battery in your console or computer case.... chances you will get caught with a dead battery are nill with the extended unless you purposely aren't charging it.

I ordered my extended 2800 lastnight and just to show how bad I need it, I pulled my phone off of a fresh charge with the stock battery at 5:30 this morning at 11:30 I was at 20% so I charged it for an hour during lunch, got it back up to 70% and I got home at 2:45 with less than 15%

In need of more power

You have something eating your battery like crazy. Unless you been on your phone every minute of the day your battery life shouldn't be that bad.

No it is just my location while at work, on the weekends at the house battery life is great. At work it takes forever to load web pages and videos, it's like my phone is working overtime. The signal there for 3G is not very good and I am on my phone quite a bit throughout the day.

I am sure this new battery will be just what I need. I just hope someone can think up a fix for the battery meter, but at this point it is something I am willing to deal with

By the way how is that Tapatalk never used it but I am curious

there is a method.. basically try to get the other parts loose before you do the thin part... sliding out the keyboard helps get that one side started, but then you have to close it to prevent damaging it while you torque on the rest... if you get it off and the case is slightly bent.. just bend it back and it will fit snug again when you put it back on.

I just installed it today. It makes typing in forums alot easier. Some videos u cant see tho.

I just got through talking with the developer of the LED'S Hack app that is in the market. It is the root hack that let's you disable your soft led's and notification led's. I explained the problem with the red battery low led flashing with the seidio extended battery and if he thought it was possible to only disable that particular led and still get notifications for e-mails/texts/calls and all of that other stuff. He said he doesn't think that is possible. So that idea is out the window, he asked if it was possible to rewrite the battery firmware within a rom to read the battery correctly. I am sure it is, we just need someone with extensive knowledge about this stuff....unfortunately it isn't going to be me

Back-up, Back-up, Back-up

And thats why I brought up the Eris. Someone in this thread said it reads the extended batteries better. Ok, if u cant chop up the Eris ROM or kernel and import battery reading/readout settings to the Droid, cant someone look at how the Eris reads it and apply that to the Droid?

I was reading this forum and back at post #309 someone was saying that they deleted the batterystats.bin file on the droid to recalibrate the battery reading. Does anyone know if it worked. I did it myself already, but I would be happy to hear some positive results.

I sent this person a message hoping for the same positive results that you are and he said it made no difference. After looking inside of that file myself I believe that it rewrites itself after every charge or reboot and this is what gives you the stats on what has been using your battery and how much, but has nothing to do with how your battery is read by the system

I guess the next question would be; Do any ROM writers or framework/build writers know this is a problem? Like AdamZ, BlackDroid, or Cyanogen. If none of the people that have the knowledge to fix the problem even recognize it as a problem than they cannot find a solution. Mabye none of them have an extended battery

Constantly searching for a solution
