Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

This thread is ALL TALK no buy lol. We jsut need 1 fricking person to buy one of thease bad boys and tell us how pro it really is!!!

I think it is because it is a no go for most people because of its bulk and ugliness. I think most of us are waiting for the extended regular size battery from Seidio.

Well idk about you but all i care about is functionality. If being able to listen to Pandora on the go for more than 20 min before my battery dies means I have to sacrifice some of the "slimness" of my phone I AM DOWN!

I'm ordering the 2600mah extended battery and the black case for it.

At first I wanted clear.... but since the phone is pretty black anyway decided black may be better since the clear shows hidden lint etc that gets caught up on the backside of it anyway.

Looks like the coupon code "HOLIDAY10" still works till at least Jan 13th!

Being able to fit in a pocket or holster is also functionality. Also, if you are only getting 20 minutes from your current battery then there is something seriously defective in that battery. Lets see now: 20 minutes from 1400 mAh = 37 minutes from 2600 mAh. WOW!!!! What an improvement.

HAHA Smart ass :)

Its not litterall BUT it does not last long at all. And idk whos pants your talking about but it would fit fine in mine lol. And that is a good point about the whole fitting in a dock thing.

Not sure about the 20 min thing... I can't imagine how thats possible unless your using your droid to heat rocks with the hidden phaser beam "classified".. I can't tell you more... sorry!

Without digging too deep, has anyone tested the stock VZW Droid battery to see what it actually puts out for mAh?

There is a lot of the "claimed versus actual" mAh ratings for batteries out there, so it would be interesting to test a stock Droid battery against the 1350mAh Seidio...and see which one throws down.

Might be surprising.

I buy AA batteries that are listed at 2000mAh rechargeable and they often come in at 2200mAh...whereas the competitors touting 2600-2800mAh barely break 2000mAh.

Worth a test, if someone has the means to do the load testing. My AA tester only works with 1.5V cells.

I'm excitedly waiting for the slim fit battery...

I think a 2600mAh battery would be a bit of overkill for me since I can usually make it from when I unplug it at a full charge around 6:30am and usually make it home around 7pm with 15-25% power left... If the slim makes it to 1750mAh I should get around 18 hours with my usage. Even a 1500mAh should be decent for me.

I agree.. with normal uses, the standard battery is more than adequate.....

But once you start playing with youtube, tv.com, photoediting apps such as picsay pro, playing music allot, games, taking lots of pictures "I'm amazed at how much pictures eat up battery".... things that require full screen brightness for prolonged periods of time.... I don't want to stress over my battery running down.

Although I don't have time for all that on a typical work day... but when I'm off, traveling, bored on a plane etc..... I want to have plenty..... I like overkill.

If you don't use a case.. an extra battery would suffice, but I don't want to be popping off my case every other day to switch batteries either.

I received my Seidio extended battery on Saturday. The instructions said to charge for at least 8 hours before normal use. When I put the battery in it was at 70% charge and it only took maybe an hour for it to say 100%. I still left it on the charge even though I don't think it was charging(?). The instructions also said that you need to have at least 5 charges before the battery becomes conditioned and performance improves.

So, today was the first chance on a single charge to give it a try. I took the phone off the charger around 900am this morning. I didn't talk much on the phone today (10-15minutes). However, I texted as normal and used all other data services as normal. It might have even been a heavier than normal day because my wife played with the phone for 20 minutes or so surfing, market, etc. She's seriously considering whether or not to give up the bb.

It is now 1100pm and the battery is at 70%. That is MUCH more juice than what I would normally get. By now I'd either have a dead battery, or would've thrown it on the charger so that I could get through the day. So, I'm pretty happy, but I would REALLY like to see a bit more. I am in IT and this thing is a tool. Actually, the droid is becoming my goto device more and more. For those of you in IT, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about (RDP, VNC, telnet, etc)

Yes. I cringed for a bit when I saw the screen shots of the battery. However, hats off to Seido design for working with what they had. I used to have a motoq with the extended battery and this thing blows the daylights out of that battery/device. As far as looks go... well, like I said, this thing is the tool of tools for me. No gaming.... no facebooking... just a lot of heavy use with wifi, vpn, email, etc. I will totally sacrifice some looks in exchange for added battery life. It's a no brainer. I carry my droid in my pocket and the added size is hardly noticeable. I really didn't notice a difference in weight. However, when I first got the Droid the weight was noticeably different than my feather bb curve. I'm used to it now and actually like the feel so much better. I remember on the motoq a lot of users said they actually liked the feel of the extended battery because it made the phone more comfortable to hold while talking. I never drank the kool-aid from those folks, but I imagine there will be people saying the same thing with this battery. I'm still not really used to the feel of it, but by no means does it take away from the satisfaction of the phone itself.

Overall, I have zero regrets. Once again, I don't care about looks. When I'm on a 10 story roof trying to troubleshoot a wireless problem and need to call someone at the other end the last thing I want to be looking at is how many bars are left on the battery meter. I will probably keep the stock battery close by for the date nights with the wife so it doesn't look like I have a Palm Treo 650 sitting on the table!!

If i find that the battery life improves even more, I will update this post. Meanwhile, I'm putting my 70% charged droid to bed for the night! She's got a big day tomorrow!

^^If you ever have time, can you take some upclose ppictures of how the overall phone looks now? I would like to see some better photos of what it really looks like other than the pictures on Seidio's website.

Thanks
