Wow im oc'ed to 1.2ghz, dalvik heap size 36 and just enabled sysctl.conf and this rom is rediculously fast now.

Whats the sysctl.conf do when enabled squidly?

it modifies the VM read up on it, its pretty cool im still toying with different swappiness settings and such.

Could you explain that a little more?

Your sdcard isn't mounted to the phone so nothing will work its set up so you just don't delete everything because thesd isn't mounted.

As for the sync try rebooting if that doesn't work wipe what did you install over?

This is a great rom, but I have one quirk that I would liketo fix. I installed stock squidly and I noticed that I have the backup assit icon in the status bar next to the 3G icon. I ran the script to remove backup assit and still no luck with removing this icon. I also stop sync services to see if that was it but still no luck. What can I do to remove this icon?

What does the icon look like? Did Backup Assistant disappear from the app tray after you ran the script?

I'm thinking these persistant sync icons are just icons. The first time I flashed 9w8droids black glass x I had a sync icon that would persist through reboots and even if I went in to airplane mode. It wasn't actually syncing with anything. I ended up deciding to deal with it and eventually had to do a factory reset for an unrelated reason and that's when it went away.

That's just the general sync icon -- It shouldn't be persistent though, unless there's an issue with one of your accounts. I'd go through your accounts and disable sync one at a time until it goes away.

I only have on account which is my gmail. I went ahead and disabled the sync option for this account and rebooted the phone. The icon is there.

If it was me I would reflash the rom and if that didn't work I would back everything up with titanium backup and then do a factory reset. However if it isn't syncing anything it isn't really anything to worry about its just unsightly.
