Stock Motoblur ICS for droid4

I haven't found anything with the phone that doesn't work on this build, yet. I have 50+ games and only 3 stopped working after the update. Bejeweled 2, tetris, and Dead Space. I'm guessing those weren't just ICS compatible.

That is my experience as well. There are a couple of small bugs, for example, the connection type indicator (by the signal strength) goes from 4G LTE to blank if you exit a 4G coverage area. Presumably the icon for 3G or 1X is missing, but I still get 3G or 1x data/voice (e.g. nothing is wrong with the connection itself).

MPPE for PPTP VPNs also do not work, but this is a longstanding issue with the code in the AOSP repository, it did not work in any of the gingerbread builds and does not work in most builds for the Nexus One.

Any other flaws? I`m so tempted to make the switch... I`m just afraid that I`ll flash to this and be stuck with a flawed build..

I feel the same way. LOL. I figure there has to be a reason they pulled it though. I'm afraid some stability issue is going to crop up or something.

I have noticed a problem with smart actions. I always have my droid 4 set for when the screen is off for my background sync to be off. But on the ics update, i still get email notifications when my screen is off. Which means it is still syncing. Can anyone else with the update test this for me? To see if it's just me or the update itself.

Other than that it's fine. No force closes. The battery life is fine. I used it today with a LOT of use, web browsing, downloading, pandora, angry birds xD, and lots of texting and a few phones calls. After 12 hours it was on 20% battery. With almost 4 hours total time for the screen being on.

So I'm kinda new to this stuff.. Last time I tried this I bricked my Droid 2 but was able to bring it back to life with rsd lite.
I've already downloaded the droid utility 0.3 and the ICS file. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all I need to do is root my d4, put the zip file in my cache folder and then launch the upgrade through my boot loader? I'm not worried about keeping root.. I've never used it for anything except trying to flash roms (which last time was an epic failure).

Who needs smart actions, in this build you can disable on unwanted stock moto apps including smart actions with out root bh going to system setting- apps- all select app and click disable.

I'm not disabling any apps. Lol. I just don't want to use my background sync while the screen is off. It uses extra battery. I only need my email to sync when the screen is on.

I get the same results as you, as far as the background sync smart actions w/ screen off

I also use smart actions, probly gonna go test some more now, thats a bummer

Thanks. That does suck. I started using that when I first got the phone and it boosted my battery throughout the day by a good few hours easily. Maybe I can find a 3rd party app that can actually disable the sync properly. Right now I just turned off sync all the together. So, it just syncs when I open the gmail app. Which is still convenient. I just don't like change. Ha.

Disable aka freeze (without being root) they are still on the device but disabled no effect if trying to update which we will probably not recieve lol. Hope you guys have a back up plan, i do!
