Subwoofer Enthusiasts Pics/Info

@gaspricessuck: got some serious $ in those systems but also looks like you got quite a bit of knowledge goin on to customize so many diff cars. Which one is your daily driver? Or current car?

@mack: I know that 97 civic is bangin! Nice mid/high setup also and those type R's are some pretty good subs in my opinion. Have you entered it in any shows?

I am in upper wisconsin, so no real shows, had a 137 db rateing though from a sound place when I went to milwaukee.

They were all my daily drivers all pretty easy to wire. My second mirage took me less then 20 mins. And I have a bit of knowledge but not enough I am always researching. I don't have a system right now. Not working but if I get a signing bonus from the military or a full time job, I will get 4 18" fi blts
 
Fi subs are def a good choice and that's an accomplishment to get a wiring job done in 20min.

A score of 137 really isn't bad for a daily driver

I am gonna run my Kenwood 500w RMS/1000w peak mono amp.

I saw some Q Power 12's too, but I haven't had any experience with em...

I bought a plastic cutting board and I am going to Peel back the carpet on the back wall and use construction adhesive to mount it. Then put the carpet back and screw my amp there like how the competition guys do. That way I will have room to run both my amps.

BTW, I will be selling my MTX 10...

Gonna upgrade from my 2 12" type R's to 1 12" orion hcca.
Would love to go for 2 orion 12's but the box would be too big for my trunk!
Will be a few months till I get the cash together for new amp and sub but once I do I will post some vids of the 4000 watt beast in action!

Sounds good. Its ridiculous how addictive these sound systems are. Almost as addictive as my phone ;)

Thanks for the good reads... Brings back memories of my youth.... I remember a couple buddies that had systems... Biggest was minivan with control outside.... I've seen it make dust clouds back in the day... Another was a buddy had 4 dual voice coil Petra 15s in a monte Carlo,.... That one would make the radar detector flap on the windshield and move a 12 pack of beer. O the days of youth...

@brad: Check out my youtube channel "252chevyboyz" and look at the q powers in action. The 500w amp is gonna sound good I believe. Also the cutting board idea is great and an easy fix for no mounting places.

@mack: the orion hcca 12 is gonna sound amazing. I have heard them in action and I love the subs. They also have a recone kit incase you blow them and 4" on excursion! Lookin forward to the videos

@ck: get back into the scene man. Even if its a small system they are fun

Hey. I'm sort of a newbie to this audio thing. I want to get a good system that hits hard but is somewhat cheap. TIGHT BUDGET. Anyways I'm driving an 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Any suggestions 252chevyboyz?

@mal: I can give a few suggestions below.

Amp: Kicker, DC, Sundown, or Crecendo amp
Subs: DC, Kicker, Sundown, maybe Q Power or Orion.
Wiring: 4ga OFC at a minimum but preferbaly 0ga OFC
RCA's: Memphis (if you can find them)
Box: Ported

**Sundown's 8" subs are even beasts

Check this out. Its worth becoming a member for sure. Do reading here before buying a sysytem.
