Don't listen to that. My d2 has never been so stable and fast. Just follow the directions exactly and make sure to flash jakes mod too. You'll be soooo setting up, believe me.
By the way, I had to run the root program twice to get the su apk so if it does not work the 1st time, don't worry. Just run it again and you should be good to go.
Remember, full sbf. Not the system only one.
Once you're back, you can check for the update under about phone. It only took me 15 min to dl over 3g and 5 to install.

Noticed some unhappy people with saying others are pushing this ROM...I never "Push" anything, but suggest..that's the way ROMs become popular..lol However if you do not like a suggested ROM and escpecially if you've already tried it (or you or your phone can't handle it) don't get upset, as this is a forum that is heavy on flashing the latest Hacks and ROMS....okay now that I got that off my chest..lol Hey Idopa, I'm still getting the force close on the new nightly too, (dsp fc) but love it of course..Is a little slower... going to let it settle some more...Yours is still rocking Jakebites right?
My D2 is miles ahead of me running Cm7GB(OTAkernel)
I just downloaded Rev's CM4D2-GB-2011-09-03 update. Before I install it, would someone please confirm that this is the correct procedure to follow?
1. Rename CM4D2-GB-2011-09-03.zip to update.zip and place in root folder of SD card.
2. Use Droid 2 Bootstrapper to load bootstrap.
3. Boot into recovery.
4. Wipe cache.
5. Install the update.
If you're coming from rooted gb (ota), use d2 bootstrap to boot into cw and wipe data, cache and dalvik. Mount system and install cm7 9-3, then gapps. Reboot
