[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

Oh, I guess that makes sense. It's probably better to make ROMs based on the official Gingerbread than on the leak.

In order to SBF, I have to shut off my phone, then hold down the X key and the camera button when I turn it on, then plug it in and run RSDLite 4.9, correct?

Is this the correct SBF file?

OK. Thanks. One last question.

I have the VRZ_A955_23.20_1FF_01.sbf file. Is this the correct one for a full SBF? Do I need to put the SBF file in the same folder as RSDLite? Does the SBF file have to be unzipped first, or does RSDLite use the ZIPped file?

Thank you.

Yes that's the right file. Just put that file on the desktop. It has to be unzipped. Once the phone is plugged in (in bootloader) and is recognized by rsd (in the 1st row), click the box (...) and choose the extracted sbf file from the desktop. Then hit start and let it ride.

Lol, I wish the OTA came out the day before I began attempting this. Soooooooo much smoother than doing the leak. This venture has caused me to learn something about myself: I can build a windows PC from the ground up while completely trashed, but can't flash an experimental ROM with a single beer in my system.

Try coding when you've got some whiskey. :P I can do it!

Updated the OP w/install instructions assuming update to GB OTA and using the GB OTA update.zip file...should make it easier for folks to upgrade....

Just SBFed back to stock Froyo and am now downloading the OTA Gingerbread. What's the best reason to change to CM7 as opposed to using regular Gingerbread?

Most folks find performance on CM7 better.
There are many more configuration options/tweaks available in the extended Cyanogenmod settings.
There are frequent updates available (nightly builds w/fixes, improved, and new features) - stock will likely not change again until the next major Android OS update, if at all.
You'll get the next version of Android almost as soon as it's release (we've been running Gingerbread on CM7 long before it was officially released for the D2)
You are in control of your phone in a way you can't be on stock
Battery life maybe a little worse than stock, varies

V6 Supercharger working on OTA CM7 9/2?

Yeah, it works perfectly. Choose option 9...what I like best. Supercharger has worked on every ROM/build I've ever tried it on, and is written to work across phones/Android releases. Very, very compatible.
