[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

I read a post a couple pages back saying not to use ROM Manager to flash nightlies...wanted to clarify.

- You can use ROM Manager and the "Install ROM from SD card option" to install a CM7GB "unofficial" nightly you download to your SD card from the OP in the CM7GB dev thread on rootzwiki: [DEV_THREAD]Droid 2 CM7 with Gingerbread Leak Kernel- You currently should not use the Download ROM>CyanogenMod Nightlies option in ROM Manager to download/install official nightlies as the official nightlies on ROM Manager are still only for the Froyo version of CM7.

If anyone has any different info, please post, but I didn't remember seeing anyone posting about problems installing unofficial nightlies using ROM Manager's "Install ROM from SD card" option.

Redflea, using the "Install ROM from SD card option" is what failed for me multiple times. Ended up just booting into Recovery and flashing CM myself.

Thanks...I haven't seen that before. What version of CW Recovery were you on?

Anyone else seen this issue?

Yeah, it was pretty odd to be honest. Now that I think about it, the error could have been due to GB. I had selected "Back-up current ROM" and to my knowledge the error took place right as the phone entered Recovery. It did ask for me to reboot and re-start ROM Manager so that an error report could be submitted. I did so, I don't recall then the data being populated into the e-mail.

Whatever the "latest" version was as of 2:00PM EST yesterday was what I was running, 5.0.1.0?

5.0.2 is out now. I would just install roms manually and not thru rom manager, but that's just me.

I know. ROM Manager always alerts you to the fact.

...I usually do ROMS manually too, this time thought I'd give the ROM Manager built-in function of backing up a try.
