The "New" New Phone Rumor Mill

Man, Conq, you are on the ball with the links... keep up the good work, makes my job of posting them to the phones so much easier!

Crazy! We are going from VZW not having the best phones to having trouble choosing which one to get!

I agree... I didn't plan on saying much about it in here until I was "confirmed", but I got an e-mail on Tuesday that I was a winner in the ARena sweepstakes for a Bionic+TV. If everything works out with that, I can't decide if I want to try and sell the Bionic unopened and buy the DHD or Prime or maybe even Vigor, open it and try it out for awhile and then try and sell it if I like something else more, or just be happy with what I've got and save my upgrade for a quad core or something of the like next year. It could be another 2-4 weeks before they confirm I am who I am, and then another 4-6 weeks to receive my prizes. That puts me in November before I have to make a decision, so it will probably come down playing with all these super phones in the store and see which steals my heart first/the most. haha.

^I'm off contract with my B so I'll be trying to decide what to do soon myself. I got a great version of the B, no bugs and forever battery life. May be tough to give that up!

I think one of the biggest things that will draw me away from the Bionic will be the 4.65" screen/ICS out of the gate on the Nexus. I just pushed my D1 over to CM7 and short of a non-functioning volume up on the rocker and camera hard button, the phone is still running great and is keeping me happy. I'm just going to drag my feet as long as I can, just don't want to miss the boat on selling the Bionic though. I can see pretty big retail price drop happening around the same time the Vigor, DHD, or Nexus drops.

I dont see the price dropping that much. There will always be people willing to pay for those off contract phones. I am going to sell my DX soon and they are still going for $175-$200 or so on ebay. My guess is the B will be at least $350 used at the six month mark.

I would personally sell it unopened and go with one of the upcoming phones.

Hey Truss, I don't think either Nexus listed will have the 1.5 Ghz Exynos processor, at least according to the educated guesses of various websites. Granted, no one knows for sure but everyone is saying that it's too late in production for that to be a realistic possibility - although I wish like hell it was true...

True, no one really knows for sure, but nearly everything that's been "leaked" (if you can even call it that) has suggested 1.5 Ghz. Whether it's OMAP or Exynos will soon be revealed. I'm leaning toward OMAP, but Exynos would be awesome...

Let's hope Google drops some specs or a blurry cam shot tomorrow following Crapples event to steal a bit of their thunder.

To be fair to all rumor's and speculation, I'll add that some doubt that the Exynos will make it into either phone; however, I personally believe that the fact Samsung just "officially" announced the chip is setting them up nicely to debut it in a beast of a phone... something like a nexus/ICS device. But that is just me being optimistic. If it doesn't make it out in this phone, I'm guessing we won't see it until the Galaxy S III.

After a little searching, I see that burnt orange applies to more than one University, but if you are a fan of that burnt orange.... good luck this weekend and Boomer Sooner! :icon_ nana: haha

I remember reading back in the rumor days of the bionic when they were debating if it would have the 4430 or the 4460 that those were actually the same chip clocked differently. Has that been proven or shown not to be true? To see a 4460 show up clocked at 1.5 would really hack me off if I was a Bionic owner... until I overclocked and was running at 1.5, then I'd be okay haha.
