The Official DF Droid 4 Pre-Release Thread

Wow man..lol I love Netflix..not so much having it pushed into bloat but hell I love that i can stream endlessly. I rarely ever get any hesitation or buffering at all. Even on my 3g. Lovely picture as well. Wearing my S10 for Bluetooth sound adds to the effect..Like I said I do understand that having ANY app forced on us isn't cool...

Peace!

netflix is the devil lol
in other news... and i am hoping there is eventually.... anything known about the droid 4 regarding a confirmed release

Why does everyone equate video with streaming? Even on my old LG Vx9800 I loaded vids on the .5gb SD card. Now, w/32 gigs I can't wait for VLC Android. I want my .AVIs on the card so I can watch Casablanca on my phone while waiting for my wife to finish up at the grocery store.

If your movies are on your SD card your dl speed matters not -- and you're not using up your MBs to watch them either. You can put maybe 40 flicks in 32gbs, keep an extra & swap it in if you have more than that.

For just the same reasons you love Netflix, I love keeping my .AVI movies on my SD card. My post was ironic as I didn't think my point quoted above had been grasped:
You don't have to stream or use capped data to watch full-length movies on your cellphone! Just convert your DVDs to AVIs and load'em on SD cards.

Its all good brother. I don't have to worry about data so I'm fortunate. Nor do i have to worry with throttling. However I understand your point. It is a great idea you have. I'm just one of those guys that like the space on my SD.. I never know when i will need it. I really think its awesome you have a way that benefits your needs. I for one like streaming for the reason of space and convenience. If I had to worry with throttling or data caps I would go your route. I don't watch many movies. Just when i do I like to stream. No worries man. I appreciate your idea..:)

So does anyone have any new news. I cant believe verizon is able to keep such a tight lid on this. not a speck of date release information since dec 22nd when that fake looking email was sent everywhere saying it was moved to feb 2nd, which to me looks like a solid date. i was worried pushing the phone back was going to really hurt it in terms of quad core and 2nd generation lte radio's being right around the corner but now that i look at it i dont think there is a quad core slider comming out for at least 9 months. unless someone has any information. Would love some release date news
i am kinda afraid they will hold this till after the superbowl and use there commercial time to hype its big release.

Just informative. And to let people knot moto hasn't forgotten about it

thats cool it is kinda annoying that we havent got a real good clue as to when this thing is comming out. it would be nice if they would put it in the stores early so people could try them out.

This silence now is just more proof -- like we needed more -- that all those leaks weren't accidental.

i am a true believer that leaks are never truly accidental... it is the companies way of putting forth a "soft" release of information... if it comes true then great... if it doesnt they can say dont trust rumors.
Companies now a day are all run by weathermen .... it may rain or it may not .... they will "leak" that it may rain but if it doesnt they got that covered too... nobody can stand behind anything anymore

Actually they are apparently doing a great job in their effort to keep anyone from jumping to another company or device. Hence all the teasers and updates.. We mostly tend to stick with one device manufacturer but they know other companies are trying to bait their lines along the way. I love marketing strategy ...lol

Didn't work so well with me. If LG or HTC drops a cutting edge 4.3"+ unlocked slide qwerty with pullable battery and SD support -- I don't care if it's 2" thick -- I'm outta here!
(I do wish HTC could learn HDMI. )

I strongly agree. I go for cutting edge. So far they've kept me. But company loyalty won't stand a chance to a company with a device that totally meets all my wants and needs. Full HD..4g.. Excellent battery, Awesome camera. HDMI..yes sir! Hell something different that still works flawlessly. ( my dream phone) lol Its still a new technology but they are putting out some OK stuff. I just know if a company will utilize their efforts into one device they will have me. I can't say I'm completely happy with Motorola right now. I have been pretty happy but there is so much more to be seen.
