The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

Just to add to the 16GB thing. If you go to the tech spec page Galaxy Nexus and scroll down to the bottom and select United Kingdom on the pulldown, you'll see that it shows 16GB only also... I could've sworn they had 16 and 32GB versions in the UK? I could be wrong though...

Either way, I think 16GB is enough, for me at least... Would be nice to have 32GB though.

Everyday for the past 2 weeks I stay up till around 12am PT (1am for me) hoping to get an email from Verizon about the galaxy nexus, and nothing. This is becoming sad, so many of us waiting and waiting and the news only get worse (rumors actually). This is a huge disappointment.

I'll fall in line as well. I can't say I've been this worked up since AT&T came to my area and we could finally get iPhones, 2 years after the rest of the country. I broke down weeks before and got a DX. These feelings came back with the sgn, it has even caused me to start posting here instead of just lurking!... I think I'll spend the money on a galaxy tab and move on with my life.

It's like Verizon is trying to do whatever it can to keep me from buying this phone. This would probably be enough to do that, except none of the other phones appeal to me. I want a *pure* Android experience, not some skinned crap.

How about we call Verizon and say we want to end our business? The representative will ask you Why!?!!?. Then we tell him/her we are mad cause we want a nexus and Verizon doesn't have it so we are moving to AtNT to get the galaxy s2. If we press and demand a date or I change all 3 lines I have they would probably say something

They won't be putting the 32 GB phone back out there because you threatened to cancel your service. And yelling at a person in customer service ain't gonna help with much of anything, except making their day more of a pain in the butt.

That's a good plan except for 2 fatal flaws. 1) The representative has no idea when the phone is coming out. 2) The representative does not care if you leave.

Now if you could talk to someone at the managerial level then you might get some info. And I don't mean 'floor supervisor' or 'team lead'. The people with the info are people that are never customer facing. In other words you won't be able to get them on the phone no matter what you say.

If this phone doesn't turn out the way I expected it should at the Google Live event in October when they first introduced the phone in Hong Kong, I'm going to be seriously infuriated. I've wasted a lot of my time following this phone by reading forums, news sites, etc (seriously, A LOT of my time), and I better not be disappointed when it's released.

I guess I don't understand all of these rumors reporting drops and worse specs from the specs that were originally reported. Doesn't make sense to me why they would give us a great phone to start, then tear it down bit by bit before it's even released.

Two things are gonna happen:
1. I'm NOT gonna buy any other phone (Rezound, Razr, Bionic, etc.). I just don't want those phones. I want the Galaxy Nexus that I was shown last month.

2. I'm not gonna keep this OG Droid anymore. It's getting unbearable and almost impossible to use.

So that leaves me in a pickle. I need Verizon to release the Galaxy Nexus in all the glory it is supposed to be. Otherwise, I'm dropping Verizon - hell, I might even move to Europe...

Except Europe only has the 16GB version, too. Apparently nobody is releasing the 32GB version.

*Sigh* Maybe I'll buy an iPhone. It isn't really what I want, but at least it's out.

Just to let everyone know, its nothing new compared to what everyone else has heard. I was at my local corporate VZW store last night and asked them about the Nexus. He said they had just got the accesories in this week. I asked him about release and he said should be coming n another week or 2.

So I know some VZW stores already had accessories as opposed to mine just got them this week cause last week they didn't know anything about it. I'm getting impaitient to but if u were one of the ones that followed the Bionic that seemed like a lifetime to come out then the Nexus wait is a walk in the park. After all that waiting tho I didn't even buy the Bionic, lol.

Because they can charge $300 for the 16GB version, and people won't pay more than $300 for a phone.

I certainly will, I know a lot of others that will, and I bet most people here will. Why wouldn't you even give the option to try to make more money? Doesn't make sense from a business stance.

And personally, I don't think 16GB is worth $300.
