But, uh, do you want them to release a phone where the in-call volume randomly drops? This would be a wholly justifiable reason to wait to release the phone.

I do want that phone. My OG does not wake up in time to answer calls most of the time anyway, and half the time when I receive a text message it shuts the phone off. I understand I'm not in the majority but I would be willing to take a bugged phone now and wait for a fix instead of waiting for the fix for them to release the phone.
Perhaps the understanding of the use of the word delay in that context was with a broader definition of it, as the word delay has many similar and slightly different meanings.
Yep, first all kinds of rumors about the actual device, then (after the delay) they announced it.
Now there's just lots of speculation of the release date. They just need to release a date.
C'mon, it's technically not a delay, bit it sure is frustrating!
BTW... Every post on this forum is almost the same! I sometimes wish Verizon lurked on here! .They might actually notice someone actually _wanted_ the phone! xD

Ducked into the Veriz store in the strip mall I was in just to see what they'd say. First guy looked at me like I had nine heads when I said "Galaxy Nexus" and pointed to the guy wearing a tie. This was the weekend manager.
I asked when I could buy it. His response:
"Usually it's 4 or 5 weeks after FCC approval, which I think just happened a few days ago. I haven't seen it or been trained on it and that usually happens about 2 weeks out. We're hoping to get it in before Christmas, but......"
All things with a grain of salt, but to his credit he didn't try to get me to buy anything else. I just said "ok thanks" and left.
