The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

This phone flies in the face of everything Verizon believes in. They don't believe in unlocked phones, they don't believe in not adding bloatware, they don't believe in anything they don't have absolute control over.

In my opinion, there is only one reason Verizon contracted to carry the Nexus. That was to prevent any other carrier from having a new phone for the holidays that could compete with the Razr and Rezound. Seriously, what other new phones are out there right now in this class?

Verizon has the best network, that is not in question, but they are truly arrogant sons-of-****

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, buuuuut...wouldn't any kind of software issue only get fixed by updating the phones after they're sold and activated? Far as I know, some are already in stores, and at minimum, a ton in the pipeline.

In short, Yes!

In long, they are planning on pushing an update within an hour or so of activation. One theory is that the push (4.0.2) isn't ready, or it could be problems with LTE, or it could be the google wallet issue.....hell, it could be that someone took a pic of the abominable snowman having tea with Santa and they have to check every phone and delete the pic.

But the problem is definitely not the software that is on the phones in their cute little cages in the backroom. That can be updated shortly after activation.

(anger receding, calm restoring......)

(a GN (eventually) to the person that guesses that movie)

Interesting idea. Completely plausible

@hinataoccu: nice avatar. Been so long since I've seen Kino no Tabi. Need to rewatch it again.

Took me a while to respond to this. Surprised that someone on this board actually has seen Kino and enjoyed it too. Great series! Good to know you have enjoyed it as well, says positive things about your character I would say given the concept of the show. How about this Nexus, eh? Maybe one day we will own one.... One day. My D1 is on its way out. Cannot get a wifi signal no matter what I try (different ROMS, stock, or anything of the sort), and I don't get a GPS signal either. Got really excited yesterday that I would be holding a Nexus on Friday, but that feels so impossible now; the waiting game begins again.

I'm to the point I wish everyone would shut up about it. I've followed to hopefully get some helpful information about release but all this balderdash (Urban dictionary version lol) ruins it.

I don't give a rats *censor* anymore.

Another random question from me..

I see that Costco is supposed to have some free accessories bundled with the Gnex when it releases for $289.99 from them. I've never upgraded my phone anywhere but the official Verizon store. How does the process work if I wanted to use my Verizon upgrade at Costco or Best Buy?

Costco works just like V, but you have 90 day return exchange for any other phone. Plus lower price and more accessories.
