The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

You guys sound too fine for what's going on here. I am so utterly pissed off at how Verizon is doing this. We are the last to get this stupid thing and it's taken far far too long now, with not even a piece of information in the meantime. I am so mad at this and there's nothing I or we can do about it. Every week it becomes next week and the week after. I am so strained from waiting for this to happen. It feels like it's been a year of waiting now.

If you've followed the launch (or lack thereof) of the LTE Nexus from the beginning as a lot of us have, you'll learn that most of us have come to grips with what Verizon is doing, or not doing. There's been a lot of highs and lows over the past 3-4 months following this device closely. Quite honestly, I'm never followed a device this closely. I think for a lot of us, this is the first device to come along since the OG Droid that is worthy of an upgrade. I've had my upgrade available since May and have passed on a lot of phones, but none were worthy of a two year commitment in my eyes.

To address your statement, no, I'm not fine with what's going on with this launch, and yes, I'm completely maddened at Verizon's handling of this device. In all honesty, as each day passes, I feel quite numb. Leaks and rumors have little effect on me at this point. Far too many let downs. I have every intention of buying this device despite Verizon's apparent attempt at beating us into submission by failing to acknowledge it, save for that one single announcement a while back. In the end, it's just a piece of electronics. I'm done stressing and done being sucked into the game Verizon is playing. When it finally launches, I will get it and enjoy the hell out of it, because it seems very apparent that this is the last Nexus we'll ever see on Verizon.

I sent 2 yesterday and didn't get any replies. It was expected

Um I can recall of 3 peeps on here who got responses, can't pinpoint their names but they posted about 20 pages back. Some of them even got called by them or emailed them for their contact info. Maybe ull hear back today.

Well still no 3G or 4G in Minneapolis. Any new phones going out the door yesterday and today are sol as far as getting data..

Hey don't bring the Rezound into this, it's just the innocent bystander - not like VZW's been pushing it hard either...

:D

Not pushing it hard?? Have you not seen the commercial with the gangsta looking Asian dude listening to his Rezound with his Beats headphones and the buildings blowing up in the backround like a scene out of Inception!!?? Then the phone rings and he's like, "Yo, I'm on my way!"

The commercial wasn't even over before I completed my online order for the phone. I just dropped knowledge on you fools.

lol, you got me there... but I've only seen that commercial maybe twice since the phone was released... I see a commercial for the Razr almost every single day, sometimes twice a day

Yeah only problem with that is I need to give some kind of notice before tomorrow and I really don't think were gonna get much news today if its true that VZW is just keeping it underwraps.

The people that emailed the executives and got a response back yesterday needs to get back with us and let us know what they have been told.

I emailed the executive that covers the DC area. I received a call about an hour later from someone with Verizon. Didn't really say much. Apologized for my frustration about how Verizon is handling the release of the Galaxy Nexus. Said that he didn't have a release date and was unable to say when it was going to be released. Thanked me for being a Verizon customer and asked for my patience. That's about it.

Reading all of these posts is truly great entertainment. I am a tech geek to the nth degree, but I honestly can't believe some of the comments made in reference to this ordeal. Verizon isn't playing games...everyones frustrations are all based on rumors that didn't come to fruition, not Verizon direct confirmation. It's a freakin phone...not even a particularly exciting phone other than ICS (which all decent smartphones will have within a couple months). Seriously, go spend some time with your family or friends...it's the holiday season. The phone will be out before you know it and everyone will be happy. Deeeeeeep breath!

They did?? What responses did they get??

I suppose it's possible that it actually will be released tomorrow, that Verizon wants this to be a silent launch, and wasn't thrilled with all the leaks of their release date.

That Verizon wants this to be a silent launch is obvious. Why they would want that seems odd, though I guess it's possible that their profit margin from this phone is fairly low.
