The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

So hopefully you guys know that I am not the kind of person that would come in here and troll everyone and would only communicate info if I thought it had any merit to it...well:

A member of the DF team has been contacted by someone associated with VZW who had a bit of additional information with respect to the release of the G-Nex. In an effort to maintain a degree of separation between the source, their contact and the leaking of this information, we have stepped through a few levels of separation to avoid any info-to-source association. The contact (who is definitely more than just a store rep.) stated that the internal current slated release date is now December 13th. No gauntness can be made that this date will not change, but that is the current target.....


And that's all I got. Take it for what it's worth.

I cannot believe this until you photoshop a picture to go with it showing an official verizon screen... Sorry.

Well still no 3G or 4G in Minneapolis. Any new phones going out the door yesterday and today are sol as far as getting data..

My 3G is working just fine, in Minneapolis

So, I've been following this thread for the past few weeks now, anxiously awaiting this phone (my OG Droid has been able to tell a replacement is coming, I've never had it so temperamental.

What finally made me post is that I just called one Verizon corporate store and three resellers in my area and they all confirmed to me that they would have the Nexus on sale tomorrow. Maybe they haven't got the right info yet, but I'll be there when they open to try and snag one tomorrow.

It may be "sales 101" but people aren't going to listen to you when you start of with "wake up people" and provide zero sources or justifications besides profit margins. You end up coming off sounding more like a conspiracy theorist or someone who thinks "the man" is out to get them. Not trying to insult you by any means, just pointing out why no one is going to listen to you or "wake up".

No offense taken....maybe it came out a little strong and that certainly isnt my style. Perhaps my sarcasm didnt come over so well while typing that.

At this point everything is a conspiracy with this phone. People taking unauthorized pictures of inventory screens, insider leaks and various websites speculating the finest of details. I have been a Verizon customer for around 15 years, starting back when they were Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems. I am new to this forum but I have dealt with this company for quite some time and with each step of they way they have proven to me that if they can get $1 extra out of the customer, they will do it at (re:bloatware, NFL Mobile, VCast, VZW navigator). They even charge a monthly fee for their visual voicemail!
Is their network coverage the best, sure its pretty good, no complaints. Their customer service is very good as is the retail store staff. When it comes to product launches their loyalty is to the bottom line.

I dont have any insider sources telling me this nor do I have any emails from them stating this, but... they are a customer of mine as well. I have been calling on them and doing business with them at their Basking Ridge offices for 10 years. The corporate culture there is simple... get what you can , when you can and don't leave anything on the table. They have grown into a pretty successful communications giant with this culture.

I am sitting here, upgrade in hand, with a 3 year old phone made by a company that is financially on the rocks and has outdated technology, so I am hurting from the disappointment of the delays like everyone on here. I wasn't trying to upset you or anyone on here. I am just putting my thoughts out there like everyone else who is tech savvy, wants this device in their hands and is using this forum as a way to bond with people who feel their pain.

Costco works just like V, but you have 90 day return exchange for any other phone. Plus lower price and more accessories.

I don't think Costco (or any other "retailer") can use the loyalty discount if you have it either. Personally, I have the $50 discount and it has to be used at a VZW store. I'm thinking of buying from Costco anyway since they are cheaper and you get WAY more than $50 in accessories.

You're right. The rezound hasn't done anything to me and it looks like a nice little device... have not had the opportunity to play with one in person though but I've read good things.
