The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

That is interesting. I'll take that to mean they are getting ready to "announce", and I'll also assume that it was my long talk yesterday with the west regional exec's assistant that has prompted this sudden turn of events.

You can thank me later. Or now. Whichever. :p

:yr1:

I think that just proves the internal confusion/mis-communication going on with this launch

I wonder how much of a device launch is setup/ready to go and sitting on timers that indicate to go live and how much is actually some Web-Admin who is frantically uploading docs and adjusting servers to push the new pages live. My guess is that a lot of stuff was supposed to automatically switch over today and there are a few pages/links that slipped through the cracks when they had to pull off of the Dec 9 launch.

I don't think the page slipped through the cracks, i bet it was just more work getting the url off so they left it and removed the content. It really doesn't give us anything. they will use url soon. But your right, i bet its already done on the server but its just offline right now. its probably timed and auto done which with all the right preparations runs smoothly. haha it would be rather odd for a professional web designer not to already have the who page done before hand.

I would imagine that if the Sunday release rumor were to be true, an announcement wouldn't be unreasonable today.

Note that I am avoiding words that permit for any certainty. No clue if it would happen or not. I just think it sounds like a reasonable idea. But this whole process has not been reasonable. So, I try not to put too much stock into logical theories or rumors. Maybe I should focus on thinking illogically. In that case....the phone has already been released but Verizon is ordering their reps to deny it and avoid selling it all costs. That sounds pretty illogical....but, by that logic, or illogic, Verizon wouldn't want to do anything illogical because logically we would be expecting that. So maybe they will act logical...but deny it still? So maybe it will come out Sunday but we won't hear anything about it until Monday.... That sounds both logical and illogical. Or maybe they will take our illogical rumors and turn them against us in a logical manner so that the illogical suddenly becomes most logical but since we logically expect the illogical our logic get mixed up and then we essentially cross the streams until we... *head explodes*

As much as Verizon may want to keep us from google wallet, they have to realize that most (or at least a lot) of the people getting this phone are going to root and that eventually (or now) we'd figure out how to get google wallet on our devices.

How to Install Google Wallet on the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus
ROFL my credit card is never going into any workaround. If they want me to use its its going to be officially done, officially supported, and they be need to be officially reliable. One thing i dont toy with is my CC. Thats my $0.02.

So on the topic of being pissed off at Verizon and this utter mess of a release of our much to be desired Galaxy Nexus

Does anyone know how ICS will work with the RAZR or Rezound (or any other Android device for that matter) (since they have hardware buttons)? Will ICS create software buttons, thereby making the screen smaller on those devices or will it still allow the phone to use the hardware buttons?

Thanks

We reported this yesterday, but will say it one more time for those that missed it in the random XYBOARD post. Verizon is telling ALL employees, stores, managers, and indirects that December 15 is the new target just like they did with December 9. Not much else to say, cross your fingers that we have zero 4G outages and inventory levels pick up between now and then. Rumors of this Sunday or Monday or Tuesday are flying around forums, but that’s not what stores are being told. If those happen, you should be surprised.

Your logic is truly astounding good sir...

ICS will use the hard buttons on older devices, and not have soft keys.

Yes I know that, sorry. What I , meant was...are they having any issues with ICS. Also, their LTE is really new right? Like it launched 3 months ago, so how is it handling this launch.

The Canadian version isn't LTE, it's HSPA+, so Verizon could be having a whole different set of issues.
