So I guess today is a wash because no one has posted that they've got one from Best Buy or Radioshack.

well a couple of guys posted at AC that they were able to get one from best buy but thats about it

Iirc, the ones in the store didn't even have a sim card in them, I don't get how that affects Verizon. It's Google's and Samsung's product, not Verizon's.

It has Verizon's logo on it. Verizon is the sole carrier of the device in the United States right now. It affects Verizon.

I called Verizon again just to make sure there wasn't a mistake, and sure enough the rep informed me that the previous rep I spoke with was "looking at the wrong part of the map" that in fact I was not eligible it's only for the Midwest :angry:

You probably should not have called back. If the rep marked your account for the rebate, there's a good chance they would of had to honor it. Did he say he was making a note on your account?

They have a dummy unit at the Best Buy where I live. Saw it Friday and said I could buy Sunday. Came back today, this time I was told I couldn't buy until Monday. The salesperson also noted that the Gnex wasn't an Android phone. Just wanted to beat my head in with a hammer at that point.

I'm just glad that ASUS put the Transformer Prime delay rumors to rest...at this point the Nexus is whatever to me, if I get my Prime on the 19th I won't care as much about this phone

my highest standards are-unlimited battery, teleportation, godspeed, safety (not the phone, for me), breath freshener, microwave/oven cooking ability (not virtually), elastic screen that i can stretch to whatever size i want then minimize it so it fits in my pocket. and last and finally-toilet.

Yeah that is such a BS release statement from Verizon. Every phone they've released in the last 6 months has had pretty glaring issues. This is definitely a struggle between Google and Verizon, nothing more.

I just called the closest BB to me and the rep told me they are not allowed to give out any information regarding the Nexus at this time. Yay.
