The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

Well, the phone is only available in the UK so it's not a guarantee that that's the only time it happens or that it wont happen in the US. US testers haven't mentioned it yet, but that doesn't really mean anything either. The bugs seem to come out after launch usually.

They're using a different chipset, so it's possible the bug doesn't exist with the LTE chip.

Then why the heck do I not have this phone yet?!

No you're right of course, just saying there's gotta be some reason other then VZW's LTE is messed up. I think they're finding hardware and/or software issues in the device itself independent of the network that's causing these "delays"

We don't even know for sure that there is a delay related to function. Could be this was the plan all along and Verizon hasn't deviated one bit.. To be honest we have nothing from Verizon. What we have is from Google and a whole lot of people speculating on piecemeal.

Verizon holding up the phone would do nothing for them, they can't correct the problem. It's something google will have to patch with a software update. Lets not act like Verizon doesn't release phones with bad bugs, Thunderbolt? Bionic? Razr?

They all have bugs, it's the name of the game.

The only other logical reason is that there is no problem at all, and this is simply Verizon's business plan for Q4. What else would you say would be the reason for no news about this phone?

Yeah, that's what I was about to mention. Since when does Verizon give two craps about holding a phone back due to bugs? It's just not how they roll. They will push out any phone, no matter how bug-infested it is. After all, the manufacturer eats the cost with the warranty replacements, not Verizon. Verizon is not in the business of customer satisfaction. All they care about is getting you on a new phone with a contract. That's 2 years of guaranteed revenue, buggy phone or not.

Damn, a bug like that would drive me bonkers. Lets hope for all the UK users that Google gets a fix for this soon.

The good thing is people are getting it on video for Google to check out, I know a lot of problems go untouched because they say "we can't seem to reproduce the issue." With these videos they'll see it's obviously something to do with the lower tier networks and be able to reproduce accordingly.

Sense of entitlement?? Relax buddy. Please exit the Nexus forum and go to the Razr one please. Thank you.

No...

I am relaxed. Just commenting on the "they better announce by..." or "I'm gonna dump vzw as my provider" over a phone that is a candidate for Verizon service. Until Verizon accepts the phone everything is rumor and conjecture. Will it happen sure. When is up to Verizon no matter how much google pushes verizon. So yeah there is a sense of verizon owes us some answers. In all actuality they don't.

When I brought up to the VZW rep at my local corporate store about "I was wondering if their holding off a bit because they just had 2 high end releases and virtually nothing in December. He said u know that could very well be a possibility so let's not forget that their probably doing the best for their market and income. VZW never said it was coming in November. Google said the phone would become available in November and so far their correct.
