However my thought on the hold off of the G Nex release is explained by the situation below:

Average customer walks into the store. See's a bunch of Android phones, however 1 of them appears to be different. Looks and plays around with it, likes the cool new fresh look and features, then asks the service rep, "So why does only this phone have the cool android operating system?" Rep says "Oh that, that's Google's newest Android operating system Ice Cream Sandwich." Customer replies, "Well why don't all these other phones have the new operating system?" Service rep replies, "Oh they'll get the update sometime next year." Customer replies "I don't want my new $300 phone to be outdated already, I'll buy this Nexus phone with the new operating system."

That is what the average customer will say upon their visit to the Verizon store once the Nexus arrives. Thus, in order to sell more of their current phones and not make them seem outdated, they will hold off on the Nexus for a bit.

I like the theory but I don't think Verizon would care. Any way you look at it, they're still making $300 bucks and locking you into their service for 2 years.

Here's something I would love to know, though. How does Verizon make money on bloatware? I'm not familiar with bloat cuz I've only ever owned the D1, so I just don't get it...

A lot of bloatware cost monthly fees, so they make money that way, but they also make money from the companies that make the software. Like one I can think of is Blockbuster, they pay Verizon to put that app on your phone.

easy. game developers/people/whoever pays verizon to start off their phone with lets say a demo of a game. they hope people will like the demo, and since its on there phone they WILL play it and if they like it then theres a chance they will buy the app. same thing with nfl app and the others. i too am not too familiar with bloat, d1 ftw.
