I think this the case of a best buy PR employee who stopped reading the forums about a month back before the name was decided on and forgot to check back in before publishing.

its alot better of a name. i think the author of the article really went overboard by saying that "The Verizon Galaxy Nexus will officially be dubbed the Nexus Prime."

anybody else scared to see that big $800 price there? im glad i have an upgrade.

Best buy always has crazy off contract prices, I wouldn't worry.

Maybe the name change was to differentiate the device from the other "crap device" that is having all kinds of problems in the UK right now?

I am curious if these pictures are doctored. If you look at the "Samsung" above where it says "Nexus Prime" in the bottom photo, it look as it overlaps the photo.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0 Smartphone | Verizon Wireless im sure they would make it say nexus prime rather then galaxy nexus. although i dont know because they may just be showing the known model. and also the address only shows nexus, not galaxy nexus. and if you search nexus prime, it brings you to the gnexus screen.

and i can spot an error on the poster. it says samsung galaxy sII smart phones when the gnex is clearly not a gsII

Best Buy probably designed the ad in the summer.

Not surprised if that is the retail price @best buy and wouldnt be surprised if people buy it at $800 - Ive seen Apple iphone4 32g go out the door for around there for retail

and as far as i've seen - its still Samsung Nexus

BTW, I have it from a credible source that the Nexus WILL have 32gb internal ram and an external +5 longsword. No word yet on if it is vorpal. /nerdspeak

My source confirms the vorpal blade, but only at +4. Not sure if this downgrade is a deal breaker for me or not.
