Rooted my d1 first day I had it, traded for my x, rooted it within 15 minutes, had the z4 apk on my SD card. Funny how we get attached to stuff.

Lol, froyo kinda felt like this but i didnt get a new phone. youll look back at this in a year and just laugh. i sure will. i do it about froyo now. :D i remember the race was on to get those roms out built from the sdk. glitchathon.

Yeah, I was sorta like that (checking these forums every few hours) for the GB leaks. I too wasn't real fond of Froyo, though it was a huge upgrade over eclair.

Yeah, but the tether apk is sort of phone dependant, so I guess my question was if there were any tether apk's verified to work with a rooted Nexus.
Unfortunetly my knowledge is in the D1. its vast their but not in the more modern phones. lol, i get its phone dependent but i would think at least one dev has it supported. haha ask me in a couple months and ill know lots about the nexus and tethering. :D

There were also issues on GB on some phones getting the tethering to work (my bionic for one). Most of the problem is the locked bootloader and GB. Realize this won't be an issue on the Nexus, just want to know if I'll have tethering tomorrow night or have to re-activate my Bionic just to get tether working.

I have no internet except for my tether when I'm in Tucson during the week, and it's really hard to do things (like getting tether to work) when all you have is the phone.

I remember they announced froyo and everyone just wanted it so bad. Their was apps to enable JIT and stuff. madness. then the gingerbread thing happened which imo was not as big as an improvement as froyo was from eclair but did improve it a little more. NOW ICS. huge step.
