★★★ The "Official" I got my DROID BIONIC Thread ★★★

I arrived at the Richmond (CA Bay Area) store at 9:30. Three people in line already (turns out two were mother/son buying just one phone). Huge crowd when they finally opened the door at 10 -- but only 6 of us were trying to get the Bionic (one late comer tried to go in front of the people who had been waiting). The rep said they had no phones in the cage in the front -- but that he had sent someone to look at the shipment. The guy came back with one box that he took to the cage and the rep said there were only three (he also said that he had expected there to be 10-15 and that they would get another 12 on the 13th). I was third in line and did some data entry with the rep, went and paid (279.99 plus tax on that -- not on 599 like at BB and VZQ stores), went to the cage and got the bag and back to kisosk for activation.

The bag has the Bionic in its box and then in plastic wrap had the items mentioned earlier (car dock, desk dock, battery charger and extra battery) and some more I didn't expect (fake leather belt case, generic screen protector (trim to fit) and a car charger and an extra wall charger -- that means with the one in the Bionic box you get two wall chargers).

When I got back to the kiosk they had found another box of three -- so six people got it.

The LED notification (upper right) is ridiculously small. Hope I can notice it in the dark because in daylight it is tough -- it also seems to be just green.

Everything great so far!!

Got it in my hot lil' hand this morning from Costco, along with the goodie bag full of treats: Car dock, home dock, spare battery w/dock. There wasn't a line of geeks like I thought there'd be, however the store only got a teaser shipment of 6, and as I stood there, all sold out within minutes.

So far, I'm very pleased with the speed even with all the shizz that's pre-loaded. Since I make my living helping users with PC's and smartphones, tweaking on it awhile before rooting will serve the greater good  I used a friend's Samsung Charge for the last week to be able to compare when I got this one, especially the screen. Colors are not quite what the same of course, however I am beyond happy to have this uber*****en Moto in my grasp at long last!

Loving it so far! As others said, it took a while in the store to get it activated (about 15 min), but finally went through. And, I guess I'm not a screen snob, 'cause it looks fine to me. I don't see any pixelation. (trading up from an OG Droid)

I guess I was lucky that I was going from another 4g phone. Just moved my sim card over and it activated almost instantly.

Adding my voice to the chorus - got a bionic with a bunch of accessories (and they let me haggle on the price of them, which was cool) but got back to my office and realized the volume rocker button was gone! So I had to go back and get another phone, do the activation again.

That said so far I'm liking it, coming from an OG it's a bit hard to get used to the lack of a physical KB but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Love it. got nothing extra. Verizon dude told me extras would be free, then when I got my bill I didn't have my Verizon 2-yr discount. I asked and he said "oh that's what I used for the car charger, case, blah blah". Then it's not really free, is it!

Wish Skype video worked!

Just got home from picking up the Bionic at Costco. $299 less $20 discount for $279 + tax. Out the door at $301.05 with phone and bundle (docking station, car mount and charger, extra battery, screen protectors, and case). Made a call and daughter used it to text with no issues. Haven't had much opportunity to use as I was driving the whole time. Getting ready to load up my apps and really give it a good once over. However, from what I see now, I like.................

I found out that Better Keyboard Developers got kicked out of the Google Market Place. I went to Amazon and got for $2. It was worth paying for again. I love that app.

After I used my backup pro again, I got it back ... prob was the first time I tried reinstalling, I didnt check the "Allow outside app" setting in settings, and when it got to the 1st one that wasn't from market it screwed it up. I checked it, re ran backup and got all my apps back. Was so relieved because better alarm clock isnt in market anymore either.

Ok.. a challenge for anybody who upgraded from a D1, D2, D2G, DX or DX2...

Take a photo of your Bionic with your old phone and take a picture of your old phone with the Bionic and post them.
I'm realllly curious to see the difference.

I would just like to pop over here and say hope everyone enjoys their Bionic. I got a Droid 3 back in July and have been loving it. I use the majority of my data on a wifi network of over 20mbps down, so the 4g wasn't a big issue to me. I suspect it might perform slightly better with the added ram, but I see virtually no slowdown in my D3. I know the 4.0'' D3 feels great in my hands, I'll be that thing feels like excalibur. Enjoy guys.
