★★★ The "Official" I got my DROID BIONIC Thread ★★★

When u root u void ur warranty the only thing good for rooting that I have found out is taking screenshots amongst other small things ...too me I haven't found a reason good enough to root my phone yet but that's just me I'm sure other people who have more pros to rooting that I can provide can help u decide

You don't void your warranty with the cell phone insurance company.
I don't see where people get the idea that their warranty will by voided.
I've claimed insurance on 2 rooted and custom rommed phones.

And the reason you root is the the flexibilty, and for CyanogenMod. :P

well iv yet to do much with my bionic cause it seems im having problems with it, i can't use it got no data can't call no one can't message no one like its not activated or something have to call verizon later today, cause i got disconnected with them earlier and was to late to call them back, the phone is great other then that.

I don't think thats it as most camcorders come with digital zoom and it doesn't pixelate like that.
It's most definitely that. Add crappy digital zoom and low light conditions and that's what you'll get.

A camcorder should do better than your phone. It'll have a larger sensor and some better software for the digital zoom. I wouldn't expect digital zoom to be any better than that on a cell phone. Digital zoom (imo) is pretty useless on pretty much all digital devices.

I love the phone. It is the perfect phone (today)...except for the price. Motorola did the same thing with the Xoom, priced it way too high. A bunch of geek early adopters (like me) will pony up the money but, $300 for a phone in this day and age which doesn't have an Apple logo on it? Come on... If they priced it at $200ish I think it would be the perfect price and many other (non-geek early adopters) would jump on it.

Also, they're on backorder from the Walmart site. Amazon is also selling it for $199 but it's also on backorder. Ugh...

If there's a Costco nearby check them out and take advantage of the bundle.........phone, charger w/desk cradle, car mount and charger, extra battery and charger, holster case, and generic screen protectors (need to be cut to size). $299 or $279 with in store discount. I walked into a Verizon store and you should have seen the eyes of the rep when I mentioned everything included.

I've got Costcos around but I'm more of a BJs man myself :). But seriously, I'm not paying for a Costco membership for the phone. Doesn't make sense.

From what I was told in one of these threads, the costco membership is refundable. I didn't verify this as I didn't end up getting it at costco, may want to give them a call and ask.

Never tried BJs myself :) but seriously my wife and I are Costco Nuts! We have the Premium membership. Best meats, fruit, veggies and geek gadget deals of anywhere I've shopped (including Amazon and New Egg). They refunded all my money from the launch 360 when it red ringed about 6 months ago (grandfathered under thier old electronics refund policy) and I had enough to buy the new chip set/hdmi 360 PLUS a mint condition Martin Acoustic/hard shell case/stand.

Not trying to sell you or anything, just had cup of coffee number 2! LOL

The closest Costco to me is almost 60 miles away, so I had let my Costco membership lapse. I picked up the Bionic for my son yesterday at the Verizon store. He was using my OG Droid and a piece of the charging port had broken off, so the USB plug would fall out of the phone easily. He's happy with it, couldn't even care less about the pentile screen. With my corporate discount, the handset was $250. They were out of stock on the extended battery, so it's going to be shipped to me this week. I also got him the case/holster combo that will fit the extended battery as well. Got the store anti-glare screen protector for now, waiting until Steinheil comes out with screen protectors for the Bionic.

I bought a Costco membership for the phone (and am considering canceling the membership to get my $50 back. . . we'll see). Honestly, it's a pretty good deal. The phone sold for $279 vs. Verizon's $299 to $349, and there was a huge accessory bundle included.

Just picked it up. Coming from an X, as you can see right when I get a new phone the X decides to update lol. So far I like it. May go for the extended battery pack if I need too. Need to put a screen protector on ASAP

I also went from Droid X to Bionic and I am loving it. I had screen protector on my X and noticed it made the display not as good compared to without a protector. Sine the Bionic has corning gorilla scratch-free screen I would see no point to buy screen protector. I recommend a case. I got a rubber/gel feeling case. I dropped the phone on pavement no damage at all. I think I paid around 14.99 at store for it. I decided against hard mold case becasue with my X I got tired of removing it when i docked phone. The rubber/gel is a lot easier to take off when docking. I had keys and Bionic in pocket no scratches. I really am impressed with screen and its durablity.

Sounds like a great deal. I dont know if it was my verzion store or all verizon stores but I got 25 percent off all accessories. I love that my droid x car charger fits the bionic. I got the HD Station for 75 bucks and loving it. Costco appeared to have the best deals on bionic with accessories included but i do not have one nearby.

It definitely is. For the Express membership, you have 364 days to cancel and get a refund. Not a bad deal.

Got mine yesterday. Overall, very happy. Already have it wrapped in an Otter Box. Not seeing the issue with the screen others seem to have. Compared to iPhone4 (Wife's), screen quality is at the very least on par. Picture quality could be better though from an 8MP camera.
